I'm miserable in dust right now,
not even last week I was having fun, there were mass drivers, lasers, hmgs, heavies, ARs, forges. The game was exciting and different, there was a subtle caution about going around a corner, what would be on the other side? Could be anything, maybe a mass driver squad is ready to pounce, could be ARs, maybe lasers have made camp in a distant part and are waiting to bring forth their light-sabers of doom

A few bittervets hanging on to their old equipment might show up with a mass driver, but it's laughable, a knifer can walk right through their pitiful explosions without even getting hit and knife them for foolishly choosing something other than AR
Lasers are dead, sure, someone might pick up one for the challenge associated with not vaporizing people with his TAR, but then goes right back to it when he realizes it's going to take forever to kill him. Back to easy mode
The most fun I've had since the new build is running AV, everything else is bland, AR or bust. Nova knives aren't as challenging as they used to be, I went 20/9 with a day old alt on zn-28s
The excitement is gone for me currently, so I'm digging deep down into dust looking for more fun things to do
Murder taxing people is fun for a bit, so then I start blowing up their lavs, then their tanks and dropships, then I started knifing again, and moved on quickly, finding it too easy, mass drivered and smged for a bit, then started running pistols and smgs, and finally ended up just suicide grenading people (holding a grenade and hugging people till it blows up) doesn't always work, but hey.
Ran the AR, too easy, put it back down. Didn't even need a side arm, it's just better at everything (minus AV, so AV grenades)
What are you doing for fun in dust now? Lav racing has interested me, do we have a racing league?

I do dropships, but they seem more rage provoking than fun right now. Still had a couple of moments that have been simply fantastic and are firmly edged in my memory as some of the greatest experiences dust has to offer. |

Try flying dropships.
I went from playing multiple hours a day, recording and uploading videos, to maybe hopping on once a day for a game or two, raging, then turning the system off.
Dropships are fine though. Working completely as intended. |

I still see mass drivers, lasers, HMGs/heavies, forges and plenty of AR's. And on the 14th there be even more variation. Hopefully the new pistol isn't too OP.
I still use lasers and do very, very well with them. It takes forever? I don't understand this. Things fall down very, very quickly with a laser still. And I'm only using an Elm. |

Maybe on the 16th... or even the 17th.
Do you REALLY expect to see a weapon that's not a scrambler rifle or a Flaylock on the 14th?
Gonna be alt city. I've already got Mookie Flaylock lined up for testing. = ) |

Aren't they respecing people? I expect to see a bunch of people trying them. Especially the new pistol. |

Allegedly yes. However, I've not spent a point on my main. Won't either, at least until confirmation that a corpmate has respec'd and it worked. THEN I'll try them out. = )
And I'm not certain about southern legion, but I know OSG guys are chompin at the bit to try the charge up on the rifle. See ya CK.0's. = ) |

This happens every new build. AR is more flexible and forgiving then say mass drivers. People have to specialize, and not all of us are elite like OP. Once dudes get comfortable with their AR under the new system we will see more branching out.
If you're bored, I recommend you ask Calamity Jane II for a 1x1. He's a Yellow Fluffy Shotgun Hunter in the new build, and will keep you entertained if you can stay alive long enough to come at it him. No, I'm not bitter.  |

I feel your pain. I'm the last kind of player to go for the shield/ar combo, but with uprising it's the only thing I can compete with, & even then I get a 3:1 assist:kill ratio.
The enormous advantage to shields means I no longer have a use for my rep tool, the injectors are broken, and all the assault players are running logi suits with more hives than they know what to do with. |

CCP seems to have catered to the AR. It's the easiest to use, has the best range except to the SR, and cost fewer SP than other light weapons which are much less efficient. The AR even has the best all around PG and CPU efficiency of light weapons. The cost more ISK than other light weapons except the MD but that isn't enough to slow down their purchase since they are that much more effective and well worth the price.
It's not mystery why the AR is the most popular weapon. It is great at all things while other weapons have lost their exceptional qualities since chromosome. This is why the AR is the weapon to fear in Dust. |

They need flight controls like an altimeter and whatever the thing is called that tells you if you're level.
Also ability to aim turret a bit in first person mode |

Gone from MD to the shotgun scout. Trying both flavors. Maybe be the knifed, but....I still have a soul and don't want to be on every ones block list. Was going to try vehicles but.... I've been tarnished on how flight works in UT3 |
