Hello,
Have you ever wondered what the distance is on those lines you see on the map? Well I have and since i went through the trouble of actually finding out, I might as well teach you what they mean.
Look at the image if you don't feel like reading a small explanation, this image speaks for itself.
First thing first; when I say mini-map, I mean to say the map in the upper left corner of your screen where all the little red, blue, and green dots appear. You will notice yourself on the center and a a small circle around it. That first circle denominates the 20 meter line. After that you see straight line that go north, south, west and east. On these lines you will see small lines cutting across the longer lines. So the first circle was 20 meters, the first small line will be the 35 meter mark, the second small line will be the 50 meter mark and the second circle will be the 70 meter mark. After that who know's cause i got killed before I could find out .
Here is the image i made too help you guys out:

Passive Scanning seems pointless.
Hello,
The mini-map does not take into account your scanning range when it comes to the circles and lines; just when it's going to put the red dot on it. For example. The first circle is the 20 meter line. No mater what your skill, the line will always mark 20 meters but, If your scanning range is 10 meters, then you will not see someone coming from behind you until the are at half the distance between the first ring and the dot in the center which is you..
This picture is just so that you as a player know when to expect where to see enemies appear on your screen solely based on skills. When you point them with your gun and have a line of sight with your enemy they will appear on your radar regardless of skills and will appear on your teams map also.
Snipers can use "target painting" as some call it so that their team knows where enemies are. This consists of looking at your enemy through the scope until you see their health and whatnot, and the enemy will appear on every team members map. |
