Tried the 'advanced' version tactical assault rifle tonight (Elmers GLU) with a DS3 (I was using Gek until now). Decided to spend 174k on it instead of core skills because we will be able to respec soon either way.
Anyway, it packs one heck of a punch (and with tons of kick). But the problem with the new garbage aiming, is that it seems to me that the Tac being used in absolute success has been from kb/m users who have a massive aiming/clicking (accuracy/fire-rate) advantage over DS3 users. I have seen far so many players fire the Tac AR with near automatic efficiency (modded controller?) Or just easy mode rapid-fire clicking of a mouse button? (vs big clunky R1 button on the DS3).
Just an observation, but my guess is that kb/m users are the ones who make the Tac AR "OP" right now. |

CCP confirmed that KB/M controls' have limitations on them now to prevent an unfair advantage.

See the way things work around here is if it killed you no matter what its OP when really most of the weapons fill a niche and if you use it outside of that niche you will do sub par except for the assault rifle which is decent across the board just like in real life
Now, what happens when you take a bunch of shooter fans who will choose the most balanced weapon and match them up against a bunch of RPG fans that expect their skill point allotments should give them an "I win" button? Thats right, shooters outplaying the RPG players who think their characters stats should make them nearly invulnerable and of course the only way they could lose is because "Those CoD noobs are using OP weapons"
Also Haha to anyone that says this game is "tactical" its not, its no more tactical than most other shooters Ive played and hell even CoD doesnt let you bunny hop around |

No sure what you talking about... I find it very hard to use the mouse with the Tactical... i have to poke the right click like a maniac to get a decent firing rate .. Is allot easier to get a high firing rate with the DS3. |

Map shoot to the mouse wheel, get an insane ROF, observe how mouse still has in born advantages and trying to implement both control schemes is a balancing nightmare that shouldnt have been attempted |

But, I do agree that some changes need to be made to the TAR. It should probably have a lower ROF and a much wider hip fire spread. It's way too good at CQC. |

If changes need to be made I would rather they leave the rate of fire at semi automatic and leave the hip fire spread the same but reduce the magazine size |

The tactical is onl OP when used with modded controller so that it can fire practically on automatic. The problem is not damage or clip size or recoil, the problem is the stupidly high rate of fire.
Cut the tactical rof to about 200rpm and the weapon is fixed. |

This is the same guy that wanted tanks out of ambush because he's too lazy to carry AV grenades, and proposed to nerf squad tactics in ambush. I stopped taking him seriously weeks ago. |

That wont change anything, I hit the R1 button at less than 200rpm and can still match full auto speed, most people can even though it can make your finger ache a bit if you play an entire match that way and engage the enemy a lot Not denying that some people use turbo controllers for super easy mode though |

But there has to be something to limit it in CQC because it's more effective than the breach is supposed to be at that range. Maybe if there was a damage falloff inside optimal range like the laser so the user would have to rely on a sidearm. |
