The problem for many is expectations; they are unrealistically high. So many people here have self entitlement pouring out of all orrifices...It's like they need nappies and bibs.
Anyone who saw the EVE Keynote from FF13, or better yet, who actually lived through the journey shared in it, will understand what kind of journey we are due to have with DUST 514.
CCP gets a lot of flack from you unrealistic QQers. For a first FPS game, they are doing just fine. For a first FPS game that is linked to a spaceship MMO game, they are doing super fine. People are crying because Rome wasn't built in a day lol.
At the same time, I do understand the people here who are upset, frustrated or bored. Those who are overly boistrous, angry or precious in your protests or admission of discontent have passion for CCP's product. People who rage are just demonstrating their wish for a better DUST, albeit in a very ineloquent fashion that I wouldn't personally adopt--and a lot of devs in the gaming industry see this too.
I'm just an extremely patient person, and easy going, so I'm happy to go with the flow and enjoy the ride. I was there for the Advancing the Core presntation at FF13 and it this further put things into perspctive for me. Whether you like it or not, CCP are still going to be working on the basic FPS gameplay and elements for another 12 months. We will have new dropsuits, new weapons, new equipment. Things will break, things will be OP...and we will be vocal and CCP will hear and act and eventually things will get sorted. EVE didn't have year on year playerbase growth from being a game that steered its own course. So you can run and leave the game or you can lay a hand on the wheel and help steer DUST 514 to the greatness we all know deep down it has. :D
I love DUST 514, and although I have a few issues with Uprising, I love it too and I'm still loving this journey, loving that I will watch this master piece grow through ups and downs from the very beginning to beyond.
Keep it up CCP! Yurr! opimism and positivity, stick that in your pipe and smoke it, all ye who be jaded! |
