Maybe if they offered starting fits that already contained different weapons builds it would help ease new players in to different play styles. Like a militia laser rifle build with flux grenades on an amarr medium frame, or MD on a Gallente etc. Get people away from a standard Caladari AR Assault build right at the beginning so they can see what other styles are out there. The other problem is they're intentionally keeping the AR's DPS significantly higher than all the other light weapons. Even to this day, I don't understand how the AR is supposed to out DPS a mini gun and a grenade launcher. Catering to the AR isn't going to attract CoD bois. Besides, you don't want them anyway. The ones here are spoiled and snobbish with a sense of self entitlement. |

I think the main issue with AR is the headshot multiplier and not it's base dps, it's much easier to score a headshot on them than to hit with the HMG or to score a direct hit with the MD. It's actually easier to score a direct hit and headshots with the MD since they made its trajectory straight. Not sure what the multiplier is, but I've been able to OHK anything below an ADV assault with the breach. Direct hit damage and splash damage factor into the headshot calculation apparently. If you hit them in the torso, only splash damage is calculated. Assuming the rounds don't fly through the target. |
