Very simply put, logis shouldn't be boned into having to spec out of medium frame suits to get into a basic suit, its really difficult on new players and just hurts logis in general.
Why not add a type 2 logistics variant to the medium frame suits, should be super easy to code in... use the medium frame model, and copy paste the logistics slot layout.
Then, remove the caldari logi until you can reevaluate the bonuses for logistics and assault specializations.
Also, considering the desire for a sidearm only class, consider making a Logisitcs gk.1 variant with a sidearm only and an extra equipment slot and CPU/PG/EHP boost, seems like a lot of players would like that. (this can be down the road once you've redone the specialization bonuses.) |

Quick is not a word in CCPs dictionary, Soon(tm) is about it. So if the caldari logi is so bad, then they should simply remove it until they can fix what seems to be a clear issue with assault vs logistics bonuses in general.
Sidearm only variant would be opt into, as the Logi gk.0 will still be there, its just that some people are really pushing for a 'super logi' and gallente is the best candidate with its racial, everything else feels and plays a lot like a slayer logi (which is what most of us want to play).
I don't think you understood what I was saying either, I was meaning Gallente Logistics gk.1 variant, not basic frame sidearm only variant. |

Well regardless of whether or not caldari should be removed, the addition of logistics frames in the basic catagory is something we direly need, prior to the next respec preferrably. |

I think its time to get over that misconception and think about gameplay for a minute.
First off, nobody runs militia gear anymore, so your example about the highly nerfed militia nanohives doesnt really hold.
Also, most new players cannot function as assault until they have a decent core built up and would prefer to support their higher SP allies with logistics support and maybe a little gun play here and there. Also, the equipment your allies would give would be far better if they could have waited on the racial bonus and spent that 3.1 million SP on equipment upgrades instead.
Specialization suits should be a massive SP sink for those people who know exactly what they want and are ready to go all in on a specific playstyle, however logis can't even begin to play until they have dedicated 3.1 million more SP than a basic assault... its a little insulting.
The racial bonuses should be enough to incentivize players to spend into a 10x, not forcing them to do so.
You can't claim logistics is a specialty frame when all of the basic medium frame suits are exactly the same as assault suits. |

Yes... in fact the more I think about, the more you're right.
A much better way to work this would be to get rid of basic frame suits altogether.
Move the Logi/Assault/Sentinel dropsuits to a 6x category, and add in proficiencies at 10x and roll the bonuses into that.
That way, people can unlock the suits right away, and decide later if the proficiency bonus is worthwhile. Also lets 1-4 points in a 10x skill worth a damn, cause we all know proto is the only suit worth using in todays metagame. So now I could go proto right away and proficiency 2 and get a slight bonus to my dropsuits.
Oh CCP please read and consider this... its a much simple way of handling the whole situation. |
