Please add a custom battle type to the battle options.
Over the last year we have seen many skirmishes and ambushes as well as a few variations. The battlefields we have been playing on have remained relatively the same regardless of the time or day we play and it has always struck me as odd that with New Eden's vast number of planets that we don't have variety. In real world combat we don't always have the same type of engagements day in and day out so when there is no mutability to the clone count or installation placement or count it makes the system a bit less believable.
Allowing for a defender to sculpt a custom battle would provide this and allow us to adapt and change our tactics based on the factors involved. Number of CRUs, Supply Depots, Turrets and clones would allow the variety that New Eden is known for. Not all engagements are the same and not all battles should be the same. These battles could be available to deploy to under the current Instant Battle section as Instant Custom battle or be in a new tab of the Battle Finder called Custom Battle and have the option to either Attack or Defend like the faction battles. Games like COD have this as a standard option so there is a precedent for this in the gaming community. I know CCP can do this better though. This is a way to get E-sports going in a major way. Allow wagers on the matches.

The wager option need not be limited to corp it could be a drop 5 mil into the pot to join texas hold em style and it does not need to be present at all but allowing a variety of battle engagements rather than just the 3-4 that are and will be available soon would be nice. |

no. not only no, but go back to COD.
this is not a game where you set up a match where you have set paramaters, infact, you'll probably dislike the modes that aren't competitive then, becuase those will be even more random feeling. we are fighting for planets and you want to have a private little dinky custom match? no one would want in except your friends. that then leads to the idea of making a room you can just sit in and farm SP.
no, i really dont think that is a good idea, there should be a match search function, but that is probably not going to be a round for a long time |
