I like Tanks. I was/am very upset that my setup is basically dead because of the huge change to Powergrid and the lack of a skill to increase Vehicle Powergrid by more than 5% period. That being said, I am one of the people that needs to utilize the respec coming out because I am 5/5 Vehicle Engineering.
I think Armor Tanks are just about dead as about 3k PG is used to put in a Turret, Repair Module, and an Armor Plate. This means that you would need to throw in a a PG enhancing item or two, which lowers the EHP greatly. As such, I am wondering how Shield Tanks are holding up overall? I may go Shield anyway as Caldari > Planet Burners. Too bad they make a damn good Assault Rifle.
Be well. |

I can barely fit a heavy azeotropic extender, an advanced missile turret, and a heavy level three shield booster (can't recall the name) with two 12% PG upgrade mods on my Gunnlogi.
Now that CCP changed some prereqs to the extenders without reimbursing SP, I can fit the standard heavy shield extender but I have exactly 0 PG left and 300 less shields (which got me killed by an orbital yesterday for having 300 less). |

If we had Avd, and proto tanks, we would Be able to build better setups. The tanks we have now are just standard, and militia variants. Fitting full proto hear on these would make higher level tanks redundant, so I can technically understand ccps stance on this issue.
You can't fit full proto gear on a standard suit, so you really shouldn't be able to do it with a standard vehicle.
You didn't need to run a sagaris in the last build because the gunnlogi was just as good. Which made the sagaris a redundant vehicle. Removing the pg skill creates a gap between the vehicle tiers |

Tanks are literally support now. AV>tanks. The imbalance is severe, so you cant spear head dense zones, especially due to the horrid availability of av nades. Stay behind and move with the infantry. |

Each time I've tried spearheading I've always encountered at least one person with advanced AV grenades. |

you can with twin locals 15% enhancement but you cannot uuse proto missiles with heavy azeotropic....and clarity on gunlogi anymore ... |

There are a few ways for my Sica to die. They all boil down to one of two basic scenarios
1. I have a valid reason to get it killed. 2. I screw up badly, or more than once. |

Pretty much, you have to choose now between running only two of the three following items: proto blaters, proto boosters, proto extenders.
Here are some examples of fittings I've been useing:
Example 1
GÇó Proto extender GÇó Proto booster GÇó 2x Proto resistance amplifier GÇó Proto shield regenerator GÇó Standard large blaster GÇó Advanced small blaster GÇó Standard small blaster GÇó 2x Local powergrid unit
Pg consumption 2464/2464 CPU consumption 325/381
Price tag 599,160 ISK
Example 2
GÇó Proto extender GÇó 2x Proto resistance amplifier GÇó2x Proto shield regenerator GÇó Proto large blaster GÇó 2x Proto small blaster GÇó Jovian fusion powerplant (or) proto damage mod (though I suggest the Jovian because you have no shield booster and frequently have to run from battle, and this makes it a little easier) GÇó Local powergrid unit
Pg consumption 2108/2180 CPU consumption 283/381
Price tag 1,245,040 ISK
Ok, now, you could consider these two examples the standard two builds, then we can talk variations in weapons:
Example 1 (missile variant)
GÇó Proto large missile launcher GÇó 2x Proto small blasters
Pg consumption 2464/2464 CPU consumption 366/381
Price tag 1,006,440
Example 1 (rail variant)
GÇó Proto large rail GÇó Proto small plasters
Pg consumption 2454/2464 CPU consumption 376/381
Price tag 825,040 ISK
Example 2 (missile variant)
GÇó Proto large missile launcher GÇó Proto small blasters GÇó remove local powergrid unit replace with proto damage mod or another jovian.
Pg consumption 1866/1895 CPU Consumption 350/381
Price tag 1,742,800 ISK
Example 2 (rail variant)
GÇó Proto large rail GÇó 2x Standard small missile GÇó remove local powergrid unit replace with proto damage mod or another jovian.
Pg consumption 1885/1895 CPU consumption 354/381
Price tag 1,313,760 ISK
Ok, so, that's pretty much the skinny. Hope that helped you out. |
