Stop being so darn scared by it!
I put a couple enhanced armor plates on my logi, that's 10% penalty, and I hardly notice it. Well worth the additional armor. My buddy puts 2 complex armor plates on his heavy. That's 20% penalty to a Heavy which is already the slowest on the battlefield. He still gets around just fine and sustains so much damage. In fact he's considering adding even more complex plating.
Just a quick thread that I thought I'd throw out there. I'm seeing a lot of people either complaining about the movement penalty or telling others to simply wait for the new armor plates that will give you less armor but have no penalty. Those percentages sound like hell when you're reading them, but it's not that bad at all. |

I think it should be a stamina penalty so armor tanking scouts can actually use them or there needs to be an armor honeycombing skill. You can feel that movement penalty on suits that need their speed and scouts is one of them. |

A stamina penalty sounds like a decent alternative |

I'm not scared by it. I'm annoyed that they felt the need to add a speed penalty when Armor tanking is worse in every way. Yes even buffer tanking, you can maybe take 2 extra bullets to the chest before dying. |

Also, put on two complex plates on your assault, so where that gets you >_>
totally agree armor tanking currently is a joke, you would need to massively increase the armor repper to make it worth considering |

So at max level, you get an unstack able +5 HP/s whenever you equip one module. EVE online has been around for 10 years and they still haven't gotten armor tanking right, so don't hold your breath. |

Yup, the big secret in Chromosome that still works today is that you put armor plates on your Gallente Scout. You are still fast and get close the shotgunning gap with ease, but you get a ton more HP. It doesn't just help you in the logical sense, but also a psychological one in that people see you and assume low HP. |

The only thing that sounds good about making it a stamina penalty is that there is a way to counter that with mod slots. Right now there is no module that increases your movement speed, only your sprinting speed. |
