I feel it would be a lot more even if you guys would go back to the original four types of suits instead of also having the four races with different abilities. I know a couple of the things i am going to mention have already been brought to your attention, but I'd like to see a change. 1. It will take a new player months of playing just to get into a logistics type suit. Which i feel will turn many players away from this game. The shooting dynamics are different than that of say, Call of Duty. That is when i really enjoyed being a logibro when i started. At least i could help my team and earn some points for it. (I'd have been d****d if i killed someone lol.) 2. Most suits now can outlast a heavy suit in combat because of excessive modules. Plus the nerfing of the heavy made a heavy with an hmg something to brush off like a fly. 3. Snipers are another valuable asset that get virtually no play anymore. It used to be two shots from the NT-511 would take down most enemies. Now, it takes a whole clip. And that's if you get lucky enough to hit him.
I guess i liked most aspects of the previous version much better. But i do like the terrain, the new driving mechanics, the spawn camping fix, and the ability to recall vehicles (though this still needs some work too). |

Keep the racial variants. I like the racial variants. Got so sick of seeing the same dropsuit type over and over and over again. So monotonous. But, the entire "specialization" aspect of the suits is completely broken. That needs fixing. Not rolling back everything.
Even with 500+ armour and shields I still get ripped a part by snipers. |

hah. I have no problems one shotting people in my militia suit with my charge sniper rifle. Any game play nerfs to the sniper role has little to do with racial suits. Keep the racial variants, they add depth to the game. Infinitely moreso, and the heavies have been un-nerfed so your only real point is in relation to logistics suits, which does not justify removal of all suits, possibly only the introduction of another pathway. |

I still don't see heavies running around like i used to. When did they fix this? And also, i spent all my sp on my minmatar logi suit, so i have nowhere near enough to get a charge sniper rifle, which does seem to be able to take out enemies. This game just got a little too in-depth for me. The last build was enough to keep me playing everyday to skill up, but now, i can barely level anything up, because it takes three different skills to even level up a weapon skill. Let alone, armor, shield, and equipment upgrades. :/ Any new players are going to be screwed out of the opportunities that we had in the last build.
Does anyone know of a game that was just like the last build? I loved everything about it except the headglitching. It was easy to follow, most of the skill pathways made sense, and there was a good balance of soldier types on the field. |

The problem isn't with the specialisations; it's just with the way the pre-reqs and skilling systems have been set to reach them - this is something that is being looked into. The game needs depth - that's one of it's biggest selling points.
As for heavies running around - heavies aren't supposed to be running around; they're meant to be point defense. |

This is not cod. This is a role playing fps. It's made to be deep and complex. I enjoy having to THINK about different suit fits and look forward to playing on the weekends to try new ideas. Without the depth it would be another cod, some things are broke but overall the game is very enjoyable for me. I was careful on the respec with my points and came out smelling like a rose cause I THOUGHT about what I was doing. |

I was careful on the respec with my points and came out smelling like a rose cause I THOUGHT about what I was doing. Even the people who thought about their build and spent hours in the market didn't get any depth as such. I personally love to play as the guy who hangs back and assists the team because I'm not a perfect shot. To that end I always play the role of designated marksman, whittling down shields and keeping heads in cover while my guys advance, but also providing a good base of operations with nanohives and reps.
What you should have noticed whilst reading my preferred playstyle is that it is now impossible. I had 5.5 million SP on respec and wanted to go to prototype logistics, hell even advanced would do but to skill into a logi suit as well as all the core skills you need to be an effective player AND a logi, that was not possible. So I THOUGHT about my build but couldn't get it anyway, that is the purpose of rhis thread. |

I feel the specializations and suit bonuses are missing at early levels.
If we use EVE as a template, you can start out and get into normal dps frigates very quickly, but there are logistic and ewar variants available too. You can then skill up into larger variants, and so on. You can try most aspects of the game, and all of the ships have their own unique bonuses.
With DUST that early path is lacking. While early logi can slap a repair tool on a basic assault suit, i can see how night and day it will be once i get a real logi suit.
As for the bonuses, i really don't think any dropsuit should exist without some form of bonuses, it just adds good flavor. Make a militia logi suit with a logi bonus (fixed, not level dependant, just like eve starter ships), and add appropriate dps bonuses to the existing suits. |
