I am legitimately confused here.
So, the plan is that we WON'T get semi-frequent respec opportunities. How are we expected to try new things, like the Rail Assault Rifle, Fighter Jets, MAAs, other weapon varieties, etc.?
It just doesn't make sense. CCP claims we are supposed to be specializing, not trying to dabble in a little bit of everything. How are we supposed to do that with new content? Make a new character and grind for 2 weeks every time a new build hits?
If somebody could explain, it would be much appreciated. |

So basically you're saying we shouldn't specialize in something, we should hoard our skill points so we can try and be good with everything? |

Possibility to CCP giving the new players a 3-7 day SP booster to allow them to reach somewhere between 1.5- 2 mill SP.
With 2 mill SP a new player could effectively fit a basic set up (NO THEY SHOULD NOT BLTZ THROUGH TO ADV AR's or drop suits but slowly move up through the tiers one by one)
Also the possibility fo EVE style mission matchmaking separating newer players and veterans by equipment gaps in pub matches could help. Also within the 1st tier of these missions only set fitting would be allowed so players could experiment with the classes to see which they like before actually using thier SP.
Purchasable respec options also a suggestion. |

No he said you should hold something back when new gear comes out because it could be woefully unbalanced. Discression is the better part of valour doncha know. |

Exactly the same way players do in it EVE? Train it when it comes out either with stored SP, or SP you just went out and earned. If you don't like it, oh well. Move on and train someting else, you'll have the skill for later.
Just like in EVE you can never have wasted skill points. That skill will eventually be a pre-req for something you will like, or you'll go back to it later. I don't know what the big deal is? |

Capsuleers, in my experience of 9 years on EVE, only get partial respecs when a skill is removed completely (The old learning skills) or if a skill is RADICALLY redesigned, just like we just had with Uprising.
They don't get free points to dabble in new skills with, they still have to stop training Skill X and switch it to Skill Y. |

Do you mean learning skills by chance? Because those where removed hence the SP became unallocated

Plan and use patience. I don't think the game was designed for people with ADHD.
In EVE (by the same company), people have skill plans that will be several years into the future so they can take on specific roles.
Even a couple of accounts and passive skill boosters might help if you are really struggling. At the top end (the niftiest of toys), its not designed for casual players. And thats fine, having a million top end dropships and fighters would be a nightmare for us and the game designers. |

It's simple you get free accounts have 2 other characters running passively.
That way you can chose to skill something different.
For instance I just changed a 4mil laser alt into a nova knife scout and it's amazing.
There's also the second which I might put into scrambler rifles. |
