With Uprising and introduction of new racial gear and all that, CCP gave a SP respec to everyone...even though i imagined they would never such a thing...
Now considering that they have more race-based equipment, gear, etc., wouldn't that mean there would be more SP respecs down the line?
The thing is, I just can't imagine there being more respecs, but wouldn't that be necessary considering a lot of people who like Caldari and want Caldari heavy, or gauss rifle? would have to start from scratch to get those things, unlike the Amarr peeps? |

As for the dropsuits it's easier to do a respec if the other classes get completed as CCP can refund only the specific tree branch. And that's the only respec I see viable, new weapons/tanks/specialization classes won't have a respec option, as they will most likely arrive in all 4 classes just like in EVE.
So if a respec for dropsuits will happen it will happen only for those suits we miss now for the races.
Also adding new weapons doesn't mean that the previous ones are dead, respec option to the currently OP weapon would be the dumbest idea ever. |

They already have another confirmed optional respec for later this month, forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=782859&
I imagine they'll keep doing respecs for each build so long as racial variant for current gear is involved. But once that's all fleshed out, that should be the end of any respecs ever. Whatever they add after that point you'll just have to save up for. |

The respec was for the skill system changing, not the new content. They've already stated this more than once.
If you want to use equipment that isn't in the game yet, you're just going to have to wait and sit on your hitpoints. |

In WOW they went through several versions of allowing players to respec over the two years I played it....and with each iteration it became easier and easier for a player to respec....now i think you just press a button....don't even have to walk up to a NPC trainer to do it....and they did not lose one person of their player base because of it.
My guess is DUST will do the same thing sooner rather then later..

When the promised new racial suits are released, and you want to switch, say from Amarr Heavy to Caldari Heavy, a petition should suffice. For the rest of us, no respec necessary. As for weapons and new suit classes, no. There will always be new toys to play with. |

IMO, once all the basic racial frames are finally in the game, one last respec. After that we're on our own. Want to play with the newest suit, gun, vehicle? Time to grind. We knew that's how it was going to be, but CCP opened a Pandora's Box with this last respec. They need to be careful players don't get spoiled and always expect one when the newest toys come out. |
