Right now the answer is barely any difference
These are some ideas that ive thought of and seen which will make the attackers attackers and the defenders defenders.
First the defensive heavy, the description of a heavy is point defence and just having alot of health to soak up damage but not deal that much isnt very fun.
So the heavy can mount his HMG on a deployable tripod- Pros= His range and accuracy and possibly damage are increased by a moderate amount .Cons- he is highly vulnreble during the setup and de-setup, he only has a turning angle of 90 degrees either side from his setup direction, and he can be easily flanked. Of course you think a grenade would easly take out the heavy but this is where the supporting logis get the glory, repping the heavy and supplying ammo.
Tactical uses are to block choke points and to cover certain places such as a null cannon.
The attacking assault suit equipped with underbarrel nano-cloud grenades (modern day smoke sice the dropsuit sensors will just see through smoke)
when fired they explode on impact releasing a cloud of nanoness which confuses enemy dropsuit sensors and drops visibility to almost 0 until the sensors counter it. This will also shut down your TACNET (map)
This equipment used in a senario- Red team attacking and blue team defending
Blue team are defending point A, the main way to it is the a 2m wide passage and a path which circles round the back . Blue team places a heavy in the narrow passage to keep back the defenders and put a logi to repp and supply ammo. One other blue is left with the heavy and logi to help, the others are sent to cover the flank route.
Reds first try a straight frontal assault and get ripped to pieces, in between diing they try throw grenades but the heavy soaks it up and gets repped by the logi.
Reds know that the heavy cant turn 360 so they send scouts to flank but they walk into the blues ambush and are killed. Red snipers are trying to snipe the heavy but he chose his spot well so the snipers have to be in the open for a clear shot where blue counter snipers can pick them off.
Reds come back equiped with nano-clouds and fire them into the heavys location, in the few seconds that the blues are blinded the reds make a huge rush and destroy the blues and get to A.
Battles within battles cause by only 2 features
You guys have any ideas? |

If the attacker wins, they win a district. If the defender loses, they lose a district.
Oh, you meant game mechanics wise? |
