General thoughts
The scout suit problem, I am not a scout suit user but you donGÇÖt need a brain to understand that a class that focuses on being a glass cannon that must hit and run should emphasize on shield recharge, mobility, cpu and being helpful for tactical positioning. Meaning that adding an armor plate will slow you so much it would not be even fun, so the most logical situation would be to add a regulator or speed/movement modules along with an armor repairer.
The following proposed changes will add flexibility in CPU to both suits; scope their main duty in the battlefield,

Light Basic Frames
Should be more expensive and by no means the prototype should be comparable to the racial specialized suits. Thus, I suggest the removal of one of the slots for each prototype suit under light basic frame based on the changes made the suits M-1, G-1, M/1, G/1 would remain the same

The idea behind the suggested modifications is to make each scout unique and a counter against each other In one hand Minmatar scout suit can gain advantage through it's additional equipment slot, i portrayed it to be more of a team asset with intel collection and jam, from another perspective the gallente scout suit would be capable of going unnoticed behind enemy lines and wrecking havok by setting uplinks or simply flanking enemies with a shotgun (people get the idea). All things considered the cpu and slots are key aspects of both suits but let us not forget about the mobility.
Mobility is what is supposed to give the scouts an edge over the other suits, as we can see in the above information the statistics are comparable in some aspects to Minmatar and Amarr assault suits. Along with the previously statements, I believe this subject should be considered too.

Totally agree.
CCP should look into helping the scout class grow more and become more useful.

As far as I remember Minmatar scout already has 1 equipment slot.
The scout class can at obtain around half of the maximum shield plus armor that a non prototype assault suit is capable of achieving and that is pushing the limit of the scout class too much. I do not see what would be the logic of making the class with the lowest capability of achieving a decent shield plus armor amount should not be a the "fastest class", I believe even a Type-1 caldari assault suit is capable of achieving a comparable shield plus armor that a prototype scout suit can reach.
I must quote the following from wikipedia that is smart enough to understand:
"A scout is a soldier performing reconnaissance and other support duties.
Exploring beyond the area occupied by friendly forces to gain vital information about enemy forces or features of the environment for later analysis and/or dissemination.
Speed was key in these maneuvers, thus infantry was ill suited to the task"

Totally agree, separation of tasks should be done.
It is CCP's role to make changes that give the incentives for a class to be played and follow a differentiation pattern between classes. Suggestions might enrich the current view on the subject |
