AFAIK it was announced at fanfest that the amount of simultaneous EVE and DUST players were roughly the same?  |

I don't think it should count EVE players, if it does, I know the games are connected and all but I prefer to know how many are playing the same game I'm playing. |

Or it was reporting only localized server information. I doubt the actual population was ever really less than 5k people on Dust. |

The Americans were reporting 5000 players,
I'm obviously from the UK and I saw roughly 4000 players,

It seems likely that the count is now TQ total.
WHY they want to obfuscate actual player numbers is anyones guess. |

There are multiple server clusters in different regions. America has more than one location servicing us, and I expect Europe does as well.
That being said like half my last match was against Japanese players so who knows. |

Lol, adding the EVE players into the count is really sad, considering the two games don't really even touch yet. Oh, but it's coming "soon"  .
I guess they're worried that if they launch and the newbs see a total of 5k people online, the game will get bashed even harder than it already will if they "pretty" the numbers up. |

Yea, I think they should have two visible counts. It would be nice to see EVE count and DUST count individually. The one number thing is less than illuminating. |

It was not localization. Unless they have exactly the same number of qa testers connected to every node when they launched... all at the same time. Because we were all counting the players on patch day and they were identical all over the world. |

Those numbers have been confirmed to count EVE and DUST players alike.
To know the number of DUST players symply deduct the TQ count from the DUST count shown here. These numbers are the current ones from the servers at CCP.
Also the numbers used to give correctly seperated numbers for the two playerbases and should return doing so in the near future. |
