The system that you have to wait 10 hours before your character is deleted might be usefull to avoid accidently deleting it but its annoying if you want to create a new character and use the same name.
Could you please remove this and use another security system? Maybe something like reCaptcha that you have to confirm your deletion by typing the characters name. |

It's not for accidental deletion (not completely anyway) it's to help out those who rage quit so they have 10 hours to cool down. |

It's an idiot-proof system. Besides, be glad you get only 10 hours of waiting. In Eve Online, players have to wait a full 24 hours to biomass their characters. |

One more thing I forgot to mention. This system is also meant to discourage exploiting the system. When you create a new character, you are given a starting amount of ISK. If you were given the option to instantly create an alt, transfer starter ISK to main, and delete the alt all in a few minutes, you will get massive amounts of ISK assuming ISK transfers between mercs are implemented.
With this system, you will be delayed 10 hours instead but keep in mind that gaining ISK in this fashion is considered to be an "exploit" by CCP and will likely cause your character to be banned and have the ISK confiscated from your account. Also, CCP has the power to track transactions of all kinds. |

Yeah, I think it should be 60 minutes-2 hours, tops.
But yeah, on a related topic, if you assigned something you got from a special event (like the Quafe and the Federation dropsuits) and you delete the character the items were assigned to, do they go back to being unassigned or do you lose the items permanently? |

You will lose the items in that fashion. If you want to delete a character that has a special event item, transfer the item to another character (once that feature comes in) first. |
