As a former MAG player I just love the new headshot sound, or rather, the absence of sound that comes for about a second when you make a kill with headshots. This vaccume makes me smile everytime, its certainly adding to my gameplay experience in a positive way. I hope you enjoy it too, and I hope the EVEtards that were against having a "headshot sound" in previous threads enjoy it too and realise that us FPS players know a thing or two about fun gameplay mechanics that the space pirates don't. We have also asked for proxy chat and a MAG type com system, I hope you see the light there aswell.
(And no, I don't want Dust to turn into MAG, I merely want a couple of core features like proxy chat and coms system implemented, we wan't the best game possible no? Sorry, I'm digressing.)
My nr 1 would be the new LAV sound, not only is the days of the ninja LAVs over, but the sound itself is very very cool, just driving around aiomlessly is kind of fun now.
The second thing I noticed is the more beefy sound of the tac ARs. It really feels like you have a high caliber powerful plasma rifle and not a pee shooter in your hands.
The new flux sound is just amazing, they're just very cool, as is the new visuals.
Since I've turned into a combat logi I really haven't tested the SMGs out yet, my previous favorite sound from Dust was the SMG reload sound, again, very cool.
The knee-break sound you get after falling from high places is also very popular, personally I hate it, it gives me the creeps, I'd like the option to turn it off if possible, still, good job.
I'm sure there are lots of other tweaks that I'm unaware of since I mostly keep to my main role.
So to the sound designers; Good job indeed! I'm very happy that you keep trying to improve the game, the sound stage is quite important for us almost blind ones....
Well I have to bring one little complaint...
I really don't like the sound of the Duvolle AR. Its a kind of popping sound, it gives me association to a certain film involving a skinny asian gitrl and a set off ping-pong balls....
Hopefully you'll not get that mental picture each time you shoot your gun, believe me, it gets old very fast.... |
