To everyone who responded to my post.
Trust me, none of those scoreboard leaders WANT this game to only be 20-0 pubstomps.
no doubt Sharpshooter HAD to go, it was far too imbalanced for those who had it vs those who didnt.
however, while some people may like the reduced ranges in this game, anyone who is halfway decent at an FPS cannot play with how bad the gun ranges are. I was foolishly expecting CCP would have known this from the get go, I totally though we were all get SS5 ranges right off, as it stands, full damage dropoff is absolute bull**** and needs to go before I can consider this a real FPS again.
Also, hit detection in this game now is lulz, however.. I can get around that with practice and muscle memory. I cannot, however, get past the fact that my grenades go farther than my AR does.
The state of this game is unacceptable, and most of us don't care to play it until CCP fixes it.
If you think the ranges are fine, most likely you werent good enough at this game to play with longer ranges. Thats okay, we good players understand your plight, however the way this game is now cannot stand. Divided tiers so you bad players can all CQC together is the true fix for these issues and I wont return to this game until ranges and hit detection is fixed, and I know im not the only one.
Also, CCP Remnant has already stated he knows how to fix the range issue. A slight increase in effective range + a gentle damage dropoff for ranges outside of a weapons effective range. This is exactly what this game needs, more than anything. I can only hop this is priority 1 for CCP right, nothing else should take precedence over this. |

You are absolutely correct.
I was running b series logi, duvolle, and 2 CDMs with SS Pro 3 in chromosome and absolutely wrecking people. Nobody disputes the power disparity was wrong, game breaking, and driving new players away in droves.
The solution, as clearly shown by this disaster of an update, is NOT to put us at SS0 levels. What is needed is for every weapon to have a boost to weapon range, without the power disparity given by players who had SS vs those who did not. This game needs a fundamental rework of weapon ranges. Its true that SS masked these issues, but its just absolutely sad that they didn't even consider what it would be like if they removed SS and did nothing else.
tbh, even though remnant has indicated he understands the situation and is working on a fix, I am still really disappointed that he didnt consider the impact removing SS had and just let uprising release without any amount of testing and player feedback on what is, quite possibly, THE most fundamental change in gameplay mechanics you can make. |
