The remote camera stops or gets hung up on structures or even small hills.
This isn't new with Uprising, but it has become a bigger issue when combined with the increased inertia of the dropship. The new changes increase the chances of your ship making an extended run in reverse and this can kill you quickly if you are near the ground.
When the ship gets away from you in reverse it all too often backs into a hill or structure which stops your camera but not the ship. That results in the back of the ship climbing into your face where it obscures your entire field of view, making recovery well nigh impossible.
I've also experience it moving forward when flying under or between structures. The camera stops moving but he ship doesn't, resulting in it moving further away from the operator. This is far less deadly, but still disconcerting and immersion breaking.
You could have the camera simply move through the object, but if you want to avoid the break in reality you could simply have the camera swing up above the ship. That would be extremely helpful when landing in hilly terrain where it is all to easy to find yourself with a face full of dropship and no situational awareness. |

I'm finding it impossible to alter my reflexes.
Every time I try to aim forward over the nose of the ship I push the camera stick forward.
But that swings my view back behind the ship.
I just can't do it. I've tried to tell myself that I'm moving the aiming dot up and down on the screen, but that only works if everything is calm and nothing is happening. The moment things get exciting my instincts take over and I can't hit a thing.
CCP Blam! Please, please, please give me a camera stick invert option. I'm going to be useless in the Assault DS until you do. |
