...and it seems 'intended.' If you watch your iron sights, preferably with a pistol (and its glowing sights) as you are strafing sideways, your gun barrels turns.
For example, if you strafe right, the center needle of the iron sight hugs the wall of the left side, causing your bullets to fire slightly off target.
It also appears as something they intended (why..?!), since I'd imagine you'd have to actually code something like this into the game. Either way, when you aren't strafing you'll notice that your sights remain perfectly centered. As far as I can tell, this is true of every weapon. I certainly haven't checked them all however.
This is ever so slight, but at 15+meters out even a 1 degree difference is a certain miss if you're actually aiming at someone's head. Since the apparent 'cure' for this presently is either stand still, or don't aim I've got no idea how to deal with the issue other than to fire in short bursts (which you should be doing anyway, IMO).
Or, I guess you could aim at the appropriate ear. I plan on running more 'tests' on this to see if aiming right while strafing right will correct the issue. As it stands it appears that the LESS accurate you are at headshotting people, the more headshots you'll land... assuming you're strafing of course. |

Is this really what everyone was complaining about? If so, they are all idiots. This is regular barrel sway which I've explained in another thread. I also explained that if you are strafing and your opponent is strafing, you have to lead the target to get your shots in. This is basic gunplay 101 |

"gun sway" which by no means happens in any other FPS when moving... |

I can stand still and have problem aiming. Its just aiming in general, I really have no problem with gun sway. |

I NEVER miss while standing still. = )
At least with any of the weapons I use. I don't do it all that regularly though. Anyway, it's simply something I noticed, which I figured many didn't. It's what I'd imagine the issue is here. People can't... adapt I suppose. I certainly don't hate the mechanic. |

Now can you tell me why can't I do the same, when I managed to adjust to every FPS game on the market? Heck it only took me 5 minutes to get used to from a mouse to a controller. |

+1 Who would have guessed moving could throw your aim off. |

I can't recall being in a game with/against you so I can't offer much more than that. I'ts fairly straightforward aiming when you aren't moving. No bullet wander/ |

Ive been fiddling with the Eagle Eye converter and whatever you are saying here does not stroke with 4 days of constantly adjusting settings on it.
Besides in real life, if you would move to the left or right, your gun does not sway front to back as if you are not holding it but back to front as the rear of the gun is firmly put against your body and not floating in nothingness.
Also it would not decenter away from mid center eye. |

That's not the problem.
I tilt the stick a small amount and hold it steady. I don't turn at a constant rate, and I don't turn noticeably slower than I do when I jam the stick all the way to the side.
There's too much acceleration and not enough scaling. I want my movements to control my turn speed, not the amount of time I've been turning for. |

WOW! its not about sway or hit location. The aiming issue comes from moving side to side (strafing) and no matter what your sensitivity is set at there is a non-responsive or what I like to call stuck in mud feeling as you change directions. in the beta it was more responsive and precise and now it feels like you should all bunny hop that way you will never be hit at close range. take note that if you are both not moving you can aim at it will work. But we are talking about strafing while shooting are we not? It is obviously an issue that must be addressed otherwise this is not a competitive game. But rather a spray and pray game much like MAG turned out to be. Next we will see the so called strategies of strafing patterns people use to dodge bullets and lasers. Christ doesn't that sound fun. |
