If you went Caldari Medium frame the Assault is pointless. Over 3 million skill points to get the same prototype you already had but with 10% faster reloading and 25% greater shield recharge rate.

Assault suits are a total waste of SP. Just look at PG, CPU, slot layout, equipment slots ect vs Logi. Sidearms are over rated when you have TAR, grenades, RE and nano hives.

Those logis seriously need to be looked at again. They shouldn't be able to fill the role of an assault. Period.


Personally, I think the shield recharge rate alone is worth it.

I think you made the right choice lowrate, because if you had spent SP into the assault racial suit, it would have been a waste IMO.

What I did was skill into proto Caldari logi, which also gives me access to the basic ck.0 that you are using too. This way if I need the equipment slots and racial bonuses for logi, I have that at my disposal, but if I want to get my sidearm back and go basic proto assault (with no racial bonuses) I have that option as well. See if I went right into proto Caldari assault, I would only have that suit and the basic suit with no racial bonuses (since they are identical). Skilling into logi gives me access to both the proto logi and proto assault (with no bonuses).

The cool thing is, since you are skilled into basic Caldari proto, you can still easily choose the proto caldari logi as well for another ~2 mill ISK (since you already have half the requirements met). That way you can have both a specialized racial logi, and a basic assault proto. Best bang for your buck in the game ATM.

I am enjoying the Caldari logi suits so far, and the 5HP per/s armor repair bonus is pretty amazing, I don't even need a armor repair mod, my suit just repairs all by itself (actually caught me by surprise last night, as I had no clue i had gotten that racial bonus, lol). I always ran a 2 HP per/s armor repair on my assault suits in Chromosome, now I can free up that low slot for other things.


The thing is, whether you are in a proto assault Caldari or the proto basic one, there is only one equipment slot. In Chromosome the vk1 had two equipment slots. This is why so many assault players chose logi suits this time around. And heck, it's pretty crazy, even the advanced suit has 3 slots. I never used anything but nanohives in Chromosome, but with all these extra slots I am going to start playing around with remotes and nanite injectors (maybe even proxys if they are considered equipment).

I have found that when something is really good (Logi) in this game, it is taken away from us or broken to the point of being useless. I am not saying or hoping this will happen, I wanto to go racial proto caldari logi, but i want to wait for all the balances to be created over the next month or so...hell, if i have that much patience.

I'm using this one until I get proto logi. The ADV logi won't hold a proto SR without CPU.

I beg to differ that what I did was pointless.It did not take 3 million to get into what I already had, it was alot cheaper...3.5 million to get the suit and have enhanced mods, minus higher teir AR.
