for those of you unfamiliar, the douche-grenade is when you throw a remote explosive mid battle, and quickly detonate it.
voila' douche-grenade.
this was very common a few builds ago, then CCP introduced a short time restriction between the throwing, and the detonating.
then with uprising, they reduced that delay. why, i don't know. who WANTED this? |

Perhaps their stats indicated that a higher-than-desired number of players were losing explosives to the delay.
I don't know, I'd like to hear from a dev why this was changed. Surely if it's the above, the behaviour could be changed so that rather than simply nullifying the explosive, early detonation simply did nothing. |

I was a lucky guy, for the few battles that I played in did not involve such shenanigans. The only kind of remote explosive use that I saw at the time was the usual 'remote explosive planted on the control point floor that kills me because I am a blind bat' strategy.
If the 'douche-grenade' strategy has made a comeback, then I will flip, because I had to deal with that too back in its previous incarnation. Oh... the pain from those explosions... they hurt so much. :( |
