It especially helps when you're in a defensive position. My whole team was held up at a chokepoint just last match, and I had a feeling we would be flanked from behind. Pulled out my scanner, checked behind us, and sure enough I found another Scout, this one using Nova Knives, slowly sneaking up on us. Took him out quick.
What is the general consensus on them from the forums? (Scanners) |

I get the feeling that was me you scanned down. But overall, the active scanner is the perfect tool for scout users. It's the bloodhound to the cops. The perfect companion. |

I haven't tried it yet but I've been wanting to. I'm just taking my time leveling up equipment. I got 3 slots, it can take awhile. And really it's only 1 slots of options since repair tool and nano injector are irreplaceable. And nanohives are pretty up there on importance too (plus you level them with injectors).
As a Gallente logi bro with all my armor I tend to play defense a lot more, so this sounds quite good.

As a scout I can not endorse any scanner threads. |

they can be helpful for the quick and nimble scouts but they do not give warpoints just so no one complains about this. the proto ones are really good and as helpful as you make them be. |

Out of curiosity, what tier were you using? I didn't have enough SP to put into things that I wasn't sure would work, so if I tried using the standard scanner, would it be applicable? |

I've been trying to get a handle on them, but I get those 'scan error' notifications every time I use it.
Perhaps I am using them from too far of a distance, or my aim just sucks. :D
I am glad that they are useful though, so if I can figure them out, I will have another equipment type that I could use. :) |

You might be reading it wrong, it says "zero scan error" I'm sure.

Only had enough left over skill points to get the basic scanner and man it has a narrow range. Still pretty handy. |
