Instead of having 4 different types of assault starter fits, I would like to see one of each class represented in starter fits.
I think this will help to diversify the game by allowing players to try out different roles without having to potentially waste isk or sp on fittings and skills they won't use if they do not like the basic feel of the class. |

Well I started in Chromosome and when you picked your class that determined your Starter fit.
You had the Enforcer, Dire Sentinel, Scout Sniper and the Logistics + the four(i think) types of assault fits.
I think they should bring the four role based starter fits back for each new player instead of just the four assault type starter fits. |

Lol as much as I love free stuff I honestly wasn't trying to go there with this post. I only think it makes sense in a game where you have to invest so much time into your role that you should be able to determine what role fits you best before committing to one in particular. |

Absolutely. I was thinking about this earlier.
Have a Heavy AV, Assault Frontline, Scout Sniper, and Logistics Medic. That's the way to go. :D |

It's a fairly good idea. Someone interested in sniping could take the scout sniper and then decide, "I like the gun, but this suit just isn't tanky enough for me" and then decide to spec into Snipers, while using a basic medium frame. If they liked the flexibility of the medium with the sniper rifle, bam, they've found their specialization to sink their SP into. If it still isn't tanky enough, they can go a step further and try for the Commando Heavy.
Just for example. |

I would be ok with trading out the current Assault suits for one of each of the spec suits, BUT! Make it to where you cannot edit them, make it to where you have to purchase a blueprint if you wanted free stuff. |

That also fixes the free LAV issue. Make those 50 runs each, so noobs get something to practice on/with and then the problem solves itself. If they want to keep driving, they invest SP and ISK. They like the Heavy suit? SP and ISK. Just like the rest of us. |

The rest of us...except for the assault class
Also keep the free LAV's I'm a heavy, and I need mine to get from point to point. I shouldn't have to spend millions of SP just to have transportation.

They should bring back the starting class system but add more roles like pilots, scouts and heavies with preset skills and more BPO fittings that define that role. Once the player graduates, they get their first and last SP respec. If you pick pilot, your militia vehicles are BPOs. |

While Iike the idea different class starter fits and a one time only respec, I think free vehicles (other than the LAV) would be a bad move. People would choose Pilot for the free vehicles and then skill into whatever, and then we would be back to the Vehicle Spam days of 2012. (shudders) |

It barely takes any SP for you to get yourself your own LAVs that are fit exactly like the free one. |

I think it should go the other way. Take away all but the frontline suit. We want to discourage the use of starter fits. Free things are bad for the economy *significant glance at free LAVs*. |

I agree, remove the permanent BPO starter fits, add 50-100 copies of racial specific starter suits with different rolls, for instance, we have 2 racial varriants of rifles, so the Gallente suits should have the current Gallente rifles, however, the Amarr suits should have the Scrambler rifles, also, each races starter BPCs should reflect the style of that race. Amarr suits should have lots of armor with medium range weapons, Caldari suits lots of shield with mostly medium/long ranged weapons, Gallente suits should have fast armor repair with high damage close range weapons, and Minmatar suits should have fast suits with okay tanks, as mobility is what they go for, and a mix of close range fast ROF weapons and long range slow ROF weapons. And yes, no more free LAVs, BPCs, say 25 or maybe the ability to spawn ONE free LAV per match, then the slow trooper can still gt the the front, once there, it is up to Uplinks to keep him/her there. |

It's hard to find ways to encourage more piloting in this game.

I was thinking more along the lines of BPO's of some generic Class based Dropsuits.
Each player would for instance get
Enforcer: Assault Suit, Assault Rifle, Scrambler Pistol, Locus Grenades, Shield Extender, Shield Recharger, Armor Plates, Nanohive
Artificer: Shotgun, Locus Grenades, Nanite Injector, Repair Tool, Empty EQ Slot, Shield Extender Shield Recharger, CodeBreaker, Armor Repairer
Recon: Scout Suit, Sniper Rifle, Scrambler Pistol, Locus Grenade, Shield Extender, Profile Dampener
Sentinel: Heavy Suit Forge Gun, Scrambler Pistol, Locus Grenade, Shield Recharger, Kin.Cat.
All dropsuits would be specific to players own race, and all gear would be of MLT quality.
These are essentially the 4 starter fits(I'm pretty sure I got the layouts right with maybe different weapon for Logi) we received in Chromosome (if you were enforcer you received the Assault Enforcer; Sentinel received the Dire Sentinel Heavy etc. The only difference is each player would get these 4 and none other. Instead of only one of these four (depending on which class you chose), and 4 generic assault starter fits as we had in Chromosome.
Keeping them as BPO's would allow a player to extensively test each Class for themselves, even after they exit Academy. They would be able to try different weapons and/or modules with each, till they decided the best fit for them. Then later in their career these BPOs could be a starting point in case one decides to start branching out. |

I would like to see starter fits based on the faction you choose. If you are amarr then there wont be any gallente starter fits for you, however, since not every faction has their own brand of av weapons, logistics, and heavies, I don't see this happening any time soon. |

Or I could just call in a free lav that way when a blueberry steals it and gets it blown up I'm not out all of that ISK. After all, Heavy gear is expensive enough.
EDIT: Can we now get back to the topic at hand? |
