When i see someone running around with proto gear and 569 shields or 45% more damage, its extremely disheartening. i know that in a 1v1, even if i sneak up behind them, i will not get that kill. whether its because it takes 34 bullets to kill them, or the fact that they can kill me in 6, it doesn't matter. these mods have removed skill as a requirement from the game. your performance is now entirely based upon whether you have been playing long enough to have ar pro 5 and light weapon upgrade/ shield extenders 5 and proto dropsuits. this isn't fair to new players. (and yes, you do need to be fair to the new guys, because if you aren't, the game will never get more than 5,000 of the same players, who will eventually quit because they won't want to wait a year before they can use the next awesome weapon.) what needs to happen is the complete removal of damage mods, the damage boosts from proficiency, and shield extenders. (regulators and rechargers are ok, because those enhance survivability and not 1v1 notdyingness.) armor reps and plates should be left alone, because armor doesn't return quite as fast as shields, and if you tank with it you can barely walk. damage mods should be replaced with extra magazines, and pro should buff clip size instead of damage. this will make the game a lot more skill based, (the way an fps should be) while still maintaining some reasons to spec into proto. right now, the game has only 2 viable strategies: get beefed up on shields/damage and ars and stay with the zerg, or get a charge sniper and damage mods and hope you don't get snuck up on. this is the first step to fixing it. |

This is idiotic. You can easily kill those shield tanks with a flux grenade followed by a couple shots of whatever weapon you are using.
You can't approach a proto the same way you do a player in militia gear and expect to survive or kill the proto player. Instead try to take them on in stacked odds or with an early grenade to help even the fight. |

We dont need to remove shield tanking as much as make armor tanking viable.
It would take about 5m for them to fix armor tanking.
Removing movement speed penalty on armor plates would go a long way to fixing the shield tanking problem.
Also, basic frame dropsuits could stand to drop down to 4x... lets new players get into proto basic frame quickly so they can be competitive.
Dropping complex shield extenders to 44 and changing the incredibly OP caldari logi bonus would go a long way to fixing shield tanking problems.
We also need more viable high slot modules before you can flat out remove damage mods. |

I think they should get rid of everything and just give us wet towels. That way everyone's range and damage would be the same. logis could carry water buckets and Icey hot. Scouts would have dual wash clothes and heavies could have beach towels. But they would have to get nerfed because everyone would cry that beach towell was op. |

no, this is idiotic. i shouldn't be afraid of skmeone when i see they have proto gear. if im going to be afraid of someone, it should be because i see their name and i know they're really good. we were promised that good players would sti come out on top if the other person is worse. most of those who shield tank or boost damage would be useless in militia gear. an fps should be skill based, not playtime based. |

Flattening everything is not a solution. We need our ranges unborked, and you need to learn to use flux grenades and wait for dem scrambler rifles to come out.

Everything has a counter to it if you run into a fight unprepared or when the odds are stacked against you you'll lose we use our skills and underhanded tactics to gain an advantage ,this is a tactical fps and all is faire in love and war yes? |
