Hello all, I usually post around these boards with some feedback on mainly art related subjects (the look and feel etc) because I am rubbish at the science stuff, all numbers and things. However I think I am fairly good with logic, so right now I propose some logical changes to be made to the prerequisites to dropsuits and their skill tree only, further discussion on the dropsuits themselves should be confined to the other threads addressing these issues. I also plan on reworking the entire skill tree to make a little more sense but that may take a lot longer than this.
So without further waffling, here goes:
-The Skill- The skill currently looks like this:
Dropsuit Command - Unlocks Medium suits at lvl.1, Light suits at lvl.2, and Heavy suits at lvl.3.
The skill dropsuit command is kind of weird right now. If anything the skill should unlock Light at level 1, Medium at level 2, and Heavy at level 3. This would be the simplest solution but also leaves dropsuit command levels 4 and 5 with nothing to do so my proposal is this:
Dropsuit Command - Unlocks ability to use higher tier suits. Standard suits at lvl.1, Advanced suits at lvl.2, and Prototype suits at lvl.5.
This new dropsuit command will allow for skilling into the next level of suits with light, medium and heavy suits being unlocked at Dropsuit Command level 1. This would allow almost instant access to all of the basic types of suit with specialisation further down the road.
-Practical Example- Gallente Assault G-1 Prerequisites currently: Dropsuit Command lvl 1, Gallente Medium Dropsuits lvl 5, Gallente Assault Dropsuits lvl 1. Prerequisites should be: Dropsuit Command lvl 1, Gallente Medium Dropsuits lvl 1, Gallente Assault Dropsuits lvl 1.
Gallente Assault GK.0 Prerequisites currently: Dropsuit Command lvl 1, Gallente Medium suits lvl 5, Gallente Assault lvl 5. Prerequisites should be: Dropsuit Command lvl 5, Gallente Medium suits lvl 5, Gallente Assault lvl 5.
Now before you all go crazy and say: "ERMAGEHRD! That's an even bigger SP sink for getting proto gear!!!", please allow me to give you a full list of changed prerequisites and then be the judge. Please also consider that the first example illustrates a lower starting point to specialise with the incentive of actually going into the specialist roles as opposed to not doing that at all, which is the current state of things.
It should also be noted that you should not be able to get the "Gallente Assault Dropsuits" skill to level five without first having the previous skill to level five also, this is true for any level prior to the "Gallente Assault Dropsuits" skill. You should not be able to train "Gallente Medium Dropsuits" to level four without first having "Dropsuit Command" to level four. If this is not possible then all suit prerequisites should solve this problem anyway. |
