The Caldari people are the State, and the State cares for its people. It's basically social hyper-capitalism, which is kind of a paradox. The Minmatar are freedom fighters, once enslaved by the Amarr, many still are. They strive to be a fair Republic. The Amarr are just self-righteous religious zealots who happen to be slavers too. The Federation is kind of complicated: Gallente are a democracy, but a corrupt one and a false one. They subjugated all races they encountered. Look at the Caldari-Gallente war: The Caldari wanted to leave the Federation so they bombed the Caldari home world and attacked their colonies, killing billions. This is why the Intaki joined the Caldari in the war as well, they felt oppressed.
So to me the Caldari seem the best choice :)
They use Shields as their main defense, which is far superior to armor in terms of defensive capabilities. They specialize in long-range warfare and jamming technology: if you can't shoot at your enemies, your fire-power doesn't matter :)
After reading this, I'm uncertain about my Gallente character now. It sounds too much like America where it embraces democracy, but the government is very corrupted. Perhaps I should create a new character and go with Minmatar or maybe, just maybe Caldari. I almost planned on playing Intaki because I love their culture and their way of life, but they're with Gallente right now. The reason why I chose Gallente in the first place is because of their suits, their ships, and because I used to be a Gallente on EVE Online. But I never knew this side of them until now. Perhaps I should have read more in depth. Any recommendations for me? I prefer to play the good guys. In most games, I play Paladins, Knights, Champions of the Light, Savior of the People, etc, etc. This would have ideally be Amarrs, but they're the High Elves counterpart, which is too arrogant for me. |
