Do not touch them they are perfect.
The sheer rage I felt this morning as I heard the swish of a knife cutting into my prototype suit (costing 100k) as I was hacking an objective was in perfect contrast to the overwhelming sense of glee the other player must have felt. Pretty funny :) |

Seriously, Ishukone knives + knife proficiency = lulz everywhere.
All I need is enough SP to max speed now because scouts are too slow. |

Agreed: don't touch novas.
I've been running around with Novas in a scout suit, and really enjoyed them even at their basic level. They are much more viable than they were in Chromosome, but the fact that you can't charge (run) with them charged balances it out. You have to know the situation when and how to use them, otherwise you're hosed. |

Can't hardly chase down assault suits in a minmatar scout suit, let alone one that's -firing- at you. |

charge sprinting not necessary, we were giving sprint strafing instead which is immensely more powerful.
i just nailed 3 guys in open ground with basic knife. they werent hacking or turned away, i ran at them strafing their fire and nailed them in the head.
knives are now awesome |

I thought you could hold a charge while sprinting? Although I'm glad you can't, they are supposed to be a stealth kill weapon and shouldn't be able to solo an AR user from the front at any distance of more than five meters. |

In Chromosome you had to glitch it by using the basic melee (R3), Sprinting and then charging while you sprinted.
Issue with it honestly is that despite being able to strafe-sprint you are still under a lot of danger from weapons fire. Some players are terrible shots and some players are spot on, so its entirely circumstantial. I tried knifing an Amarr Assault Suit and couldn't keep up with him as he back-stepped while firing as I had to focus entirely on dodging bullets. We wound up traveling about 150-200 meters (Objective A beyond Objective D in the Line Harvest map) before he finally shot me as I neared close enough to strike him with the blades. |

Died about 5 times to nova knives since the update. 3 I didn't see coming, and 2 from a Minmatar scout that strafed circles around me. Those guys are fast as hell. |

I heard nova knive proto charge way to quickly, but I`m glad they buffed them where it can instantly. if the SP cost is = to other side arm skills (averaging if needed) is good but I think they cost less though so if they do even it out and it will be good. |

I wish we had the sprint charging also, but they aren't that hard to use without it. Most satisfying kill I've gotten was a double kill with a single charge. Another cool moment was when I jumped over a wall off a crate (near the west gate on the galente compound) and killed 4 people focused on trying to fight their way inside.
I think the charge is actually doing double the damage per slice because when I use the adv knives on a heavy they are almost dead even though they have 800 base health. The weapon info says it does 150 which may be the uncharged damage. |

people complain about the knives because they have such a powerful suit only to get easily cut down by a knifer because they are not observant enough. i did noticed though when i got kills on the battlefield, the enemies started becoming paranoid and do 360 turns after each short distance lol even firing random shots. i have to say that seeing the enemies panic in a tight room with me jumping around knifing is hilarious like a horror movie XD |

Don't you dare compare knifing to horror movies. At least with Nova Knives, there is actual fear involved. |

Knives require a better situational map awareness than guns, and you need to pick your fights more carefully...so it's only fair that IF a knifer picks the right moments to attack, he deserves to win. If an enemy lets a knifer gets close, it's his own fault for not paying attention to the mini-map...or by trying to engage a knifer at the knifer's optimal range all on his own with a weapon that isn't geared for super close range.
The charge while sprinting should be implemented though. |

I agree, they are so much fun now. I made an alt just to try them out, and even with starting SP they are awesome. All I did was train into the standard Minmatar Light and Advanced Nova Knives and went to town.
I think part of it too is that the reduced scanning range of all suits makes it much easier (possible?) to stealth. It is an amazing feeling to sneak behind enemy lines while the enemy are engaged in a fire fight, and then ninja assassinate them from behind. Love it. |
