I can't find a way to do these from the map anymore.
Also, I get "invalid target" constantly using them via the radial wheel. It's either too far or through walls that seems to cause it, dunno which.
And, you can still pull up the squad order wheel in the war barge, except now it breaks your right stick until the match starts. |

I've encountered this as well.... and if you didn't enter with a full squad and if you tried putting orders on someone who was not originally in your squad this may be the cause of it but not 100% as I haven't had time to test that out |

been in game where sqd leader switches to different players.
my sqd leader had to relog. so was passed to another sqd mate. he placed defend order on me. later we notice we stop getting sqd commission points, and after match found out I had become sqd leader without being promoted to it |

I found at least one of the problems.
When you have a currently-active squad order, you can't just set a new one. You have to cancel the old one.
If you go to the map to set an order while there's an order already active, when you select a target, the only option will be "cancel" - this deletes the old order, and lets you assign a new one.
If you open the order wheel, you can select the order you want, but trying to mark a target will consistently give the "invalid target" message until you select the "cancel" option (straight down).
Obviously, this makes it sound like a deliberate change, not a glitch, but it's an added step in a process that's already complicated enough. Orders should automatically overwrite, we shouldn't have to cancel an order manually to set a new one. I hope this is fixed soon. |

It is nearly impossible to place command orders on objectives at higher distances
When using KB/M it also is nearly impossible to select any of the 45-¦-orders (such as "defend") because the selection-wheel starts twitching. Top, left and right orders can be selected without any issues
When calling up the command-orders-screen very fast a few times in a row the screen gets stuck together with the weapon-switch-screen and won't disappear until a weapon is switched. |

Using DS3 and got the same result, already reported this in another thread, the menu with the weapon switch just keeps there hanging in air and no way to remove it, only way is if you are squad leader and you issue a command order |

Was SL last night, I could not set defend squad orders on any squad member that was off in the distance, even in overhead map. I could still set objectives on points like null canon. |

Just to confirm that bug too. I have been using KB/M set up and have been experiencing it since the Uprising deployment.The workaround with the PS3 controller works for me but it's quite annoying to have to switch between KB/M and PS3 every time squad member dies or want to change initial SL order. 
Furthermore the KB/M weapon switch (middle button scroll) command is taking like ages to actually switch between weapons!

you can make orders from the map but its clunky as well as selecting from the ground since the range is MASSIVELY reduced.  |

I've experienced this too, I never use the map only the wheel, unless I can actually see the squad member I can't set the order on them, i.e. if I can only see his ^ then it does not seem to work. |

SS nerf to squad leader commands has been reduced to a 70-80 meter maximum range. I haven't been able to perform an order from the tac map yet. |

Confirming almost all these issues.
Inability to select 'defend' with mouse is the worst.
Second is artificial cap on distance for placing sq orders. |

Basically the hit box for assigning the order is too small now, and it doesn't work at all if somebody is at a distance. This causes constant misses as its difficult to nail an order right on somebody who may or may not be strafing. Its not a major issue, but an annoying one atleast. |

That's because CCP has the mouse emulating a joystick now. This build needs a total redo, immediately. |

I have had most of these problems mentioned here.
Also if you bring it up in the war barge you cant close it or set a order and you cant change your walking direction. |
