Will weapon customization come on the 14th? We have not heard ANYTHING on it. Unless I've missed it all. But, I watched the fanfest keynotes said nothing. Where is that thing? I remember reading about people talking about it last year. Still no word. |

They've given no timeframe.
They've listed a whole host of other features that are coming within 12 months, none of which are weapon customisation. |

Ugh. It's crazy to me that it doesn't have something every other shooter has. Blows my mind. I understand that it's "coming"... but at a certain point you gotta have something. Anything. Even basic scope change. |

After this mess of a patch they have to fix other things first, they reintroduced several bugs again that were gone a couple builds ago. It's coming eventually but as you'vs probably read in the known issues thread they are fighting tech limitations while doing all these things. Be patient, it's only a PS3. |

Ok, sorry OP had to get that off my chest. *ahem* /serious-face-mode
My guess is that you didn't see what CCP had at Fanfest. Weapon Customization WILL be coming into this game, but it's 1) not top priority (because Uprising is, well, needing some non-internal testing... "love"... let's say) and 2)....
Well I had something for 2 but my memory decided to blank on me. I'll edit if I remember later.
Anyways, if you happen to search Youtube, there's a prototype of DUST being shown back in Fanfest 2009. One of the weapon customizations was the noob tube underslung grenade launcher.
Anyways, most of this know about the information and wanted to give you a passing comment of "Yeah this is coming soon" and moving on because there's a lot of rage on the threads going on about many things that have happened because of Uprising.
But I'm avoiding the rage for now. Not good for the heart and all. But I also figured I'd give you an in-depth answer to confirm what all these other people are saying but without leaving you completely clueless as to why people are leaving the one word answer of "Soon(TM)". |

Oh derp. You did see Fanfest stuff. I missed that post.
Anyways, it was mentioned during Fanfest as being on the roadmap, but it is not planned for May 14th. I expect it to come much later... probably a year from now.
Thinking in a FPS person mindset, this is WAY too long, however I know that DUST is going to be a long term game made by people who are developing not just an FPS, but a progression system into it as well. And for that, I'm willing to wait. |

Well granted when I started playing (end of Codex build I believe), all we had were "camera sights" to the ARs. Then we had Iron Sights! but they were pretty bad (functional, but big and blocky).
Now we have new Iron Sights that are pretty decent. Also, I believe there's an ACOG scope too. Not sure if "camera sight" ARs still exist. |

That's bewildering to me. A year? Ugh. Is this one of those things where it's their EVE "mentality"? Or something? Because it's fine to not incorporate certain features in EVE due to no other game being like it. But, there are a lot of shooters, now. Especially when it's silly things, like, 'my future laser rifle has something as archaic as iron sites." it makes it incomprehensible that it isn't going to be there on May 14th and it's even crazier when it's said to be only available to tier 3 weapons. HUH?!?! In what dimension does that make any sense. |
