I see a lot of feedbacks from players that I have learned are the "vets" of Dust, but I thought I would share my experience as a new person on the battlefield. Some background I have played FPS for many years now, and dabbled in MMORPGs. After reading a post on a MP1st, about Dust 514 nearing its official release I hopped on the store and downloaded it. Hey, its a free game what do I have to lose. I had only about 1.5m sp coming into Uprising.
Weapon Nerfs and SP sinks.
Being new I have nothing to gripe about, maybe the quote "It's better to love and lost, than never loved at all", does not apply here in the battlefield. I don't know what weapons were so called OP, balanced, or NerfGÇÖed. So new players that will come on the 14th and myself will have no complaints or knowledge other than the huge number forum posts. Coming into Uprising with just Zarr's spreadsheet and a huge disadvantage of SP, I knew that none could be wasted. Using alt accounts with just the 500k sp, I was able to at least try out a few basic builds and eventually found one that "could" work and will improve over time with my play style. Now with SP sinks, I have been and maybe still am that COD fanboy, but i rather not have everything unlocked after only one day. I will evolve as the game does and look forward to that.
New players and huge differences in SP.
Yes the people that have been here since the closed beta, will have better gear, and I 100% agree with that. But you don't understand that new players are not wanting to go 50/0 or get a massive kill sprees. We are happy when we win a gunfight, or use a repair tool to help another teammate and get a thank you over the mic. If i wanted to get 100+ kills in a single match, I would play other FPS that allow you to wipe out 7 people as a lone wolf. I just wonder what made you start playing this game in the first place, because all I see on the forums are people unhappy that they are not in a certain gear or don't have that special weapon. But this game will be here long after some you stop playing.
Helpful criticism on the forums.
I don't think you understand but posting the same posts over game balancing is not helping the community. As a "blueberry" as I am called on the battlefield, when i look on the forum and see people saying that CCP is not listening to the community, cheating them out of money on merc packs, and overall have ruined this game. If i would have not played before coming to the forums, I would have not downloaded the game in the first place. Don't we want to see this game grow?
Remember this a video game.
Next time you want to rant, at least post some constructive criticism that allows the devs to gain feedback, and maybe use the search bar. I don't think you get how hard it is to gain knowledge without filtering the numerous threads that are the exact same subject. This game is meant to have fun, if its not fun for you there are thousands of other games out there for you to play, but there is a reason why you picked Dust.
Call me a new player but I do enjoy this game, I think we should thank the devs with providing you, and by that I mean the 20% that are vocal on the forums, with this game. Now IGÇÖm going to hop in Dust, maybe hack something I shouldn't, hop in a vet's tank, and allow the other team the necessary points, single handily to call a orbital strike. But I will not rage when I die, and I will have fun while playing.
