Hello, fellow Dusties. Not sure if this is in the right topic, but I definitely think the word 'Rookie' is fitting for myself.
So, back to the question. I'm liking the update, and was so thrilled to be able to respec my skills and get the beloved prototype suit I've been dreaming of! However, halfway through upgrading my skills after the update, I realized, huh, this is getting pretty damn costly! I'd already gone through 2,000,000 SP only to be able to get the advanced assault suit, which I don't remember being so pricey.
Anywho, I realized I'd be way better off with one of the basic frames, since I don't care for role-specific bonuses and ~3,500,000 SP just for proto suit all together!! That's about 4/5 of my total SP...
TL;DR - Is there a way to 'undo' a skill investment, or will there ever be the option (AKA another 'respec')? If there isn't, there should be, for people like myself who can't decide what they want, and when they figure it out it's too late. |

Artificer Ghost wrote:Yea, this would be a pretty freaking excellent option. Although, it might get a little... I can't think of the word. Its like OP, but its more.... Over-Used. Maybe slap an ISK price on it, like in 'City of Heroes'... Maybe 1M ISK = 1 Respec?
This is exactly what I had in mind! I would totally pay aurum (never bought aurum before, but definitely would for this) or ISK. I feel like, if someone thought that this would be unfair, in some crazy stretch of the mind, that putting a price on it would keep people from respec-ing constantly.
I can see why people could have a problem with this - because people would invest their ISK into top-gear prototype items and bring it into public battles - like a pro tank for temporary use or a prototype sniper rifle, but there's no added advantage. It's not giving extra SP, just allowing us to use what we already have, especially if we used our SP on something we have no desire to use anymore.
Hopefully CCP will consider this! :( The respec in Borderlands 2, for example, was sooooo useful. I wouldn't have played as much if it hadn't been there, so... something to consider! |

Regardless, I don't think that's the way it is to be. "HTFU" and what not.
Yeah, I think it's wishful thinking, but it would definitely get me so much more into the game if I could do trial and error, and discover what to use and what not to use without having it be penalized, or just fixing a mistake. I guess this also keeps people playing longer if they do happen to make a mistake, because they're forced to grind for SP and buy boosters even. SUX. |
