It's a horrendously lazy way to limit the effective range of the weapons. Any of the other "AAA" titles work with dispersion and reduced damage at long range, CCP have opted to use the retro method of incorporating invisible walls that stop bullets dead. It's completely unintuitive for new players as to why they can't hit a guy well within visual and normal weapon range. It will be a deal breaker for a lot of people, myself included. |

Read up on the Gallente race and their combat philosophy. They rely one in your face, high damage plasma weapons. You're using a Galllente weapon and it's working as intended. If you want, you can hold out for the Caldari gauss rifle. It's a rail rifle that's going to be long range but probably low damage. |

And here we have a prime example of a CQC fan who is likely unable, or won't, play a tactical game.
As a duster, I've played both range and CQC and have done better than I expected to in both roles. As a thinking player, I have tactically considered many situations and, in a HMG set up, managed to flank and eliminate several roof top campers even when all I had left was a SMG. As a ranged combatant, I have provided cover fire, area denial, and direct assault taking on both ranged and CQC players.
Dust has, as of this build, left the realm of tactical warfare and has rapidly closed in on generic arena shooter.

Stop listening to all the whiners and make a game that actually works. If you are going to release this garbage on the 14th your going to have one hell of a job of keeping players on.
The only way I would support your request is that all other weapon's range be buffed to the same percentage, MD projectile speed was also buffed to the same percentage, and draw distance went up to about 1km. Oh, also, the map size would need to go up so that they're baseline was in the 1.5km range.

its funny how all the people who disagree are actually wrong and CCP knows it. Hotfix for this problem is incoming. Also the damage on all weapons was reduced and they will bring it back today. |

The Gallente race make weapons that use ammunition that vanishes into oblivion after EXACTLY x meters? That's a bad excuse for a bad game mechanic, nothing more. |
