Now, I don't think the game is "dying" or any of that silly BS..
But I DO see a very plain disparity between classes now. If you went medium frames, you are most likely OK with the game (unless you were one of those AR snipers from last build) but if you are light or heavy frame, you hate this build. Well, honestly, even scouts aren't totally at a loss. it's mainly heavies. (and some vehicle guys still)
The HMG nerf was overkill IMO. I think ballistic rounds should have an inherent range bonus. Not crazy off the charts, but definitely if a blaster AR guy is hitting you, you should be able to hit him with ballistic rounds, but to varying degrees of sucess.
For instance, in DUST an HMG should be able to shoot up to say 50m or so, (Just an example, i'm horrible with distances) but at 50m, the rounds should be so dispersed and have lost so much momentum that very few would hit, and those that did hit should do very little damage. that said, at 40m, the dispersion wouldn't be as bad, and more would hit, and do more damage, etc.
The way it is now, at like 25 or 30 feet, the bullets just... magically disappear. I wasn't aware DUST involved magic. with Blaster rounds, I can understand how the plasma would eventually disappear into thin air, and not hit someone 60m from you. No weapon has that bad of dropoff IRL, and in this case, real physics should have some kind of play. I understand that bullet disappearance can be used to signify "dropoff", since at a certain range, the round wouldn't be in the air anymore. but most weapons nowadays can shoot for hundreds of meters before the bullet hits the ground.
At any rate, I just want to see more diversity on the battlefield. and this recent nerf to range has upset a lot of people (I personally like the change of pace, but thats just me apparently). It's alarming when even some of the more open-minded people you know stop playing because the class they chose is so ridiculously nerfed that it's just upsetting.
Put it this way, buff the HMG range to about what it was before Uprising, then wait to see how many people complain after that, and about what. I don't think damage is too much of a problem with the HMG, as I've seen boundless HMGs rip people apart within their range.
edit: also, people are apparently having issues with the controls and hit-detection. I'm not experiencing either, but whatever, I guess they are issues. |

I just want people to play the game. I am seeing too many good people walk away, friends, enemies, everyone counts. The numbers speak for themselves. when you are sitting at 4k online at peak hours, surely some flags should pop up? I am trying not to sound like i'm QQing, because i think this is a PERFECT build to build off from. I think the new skill pacing is fine (with a few issues of some previously 1x skills becoming 5x skills...)
and I love the new dropsuits. I just wish heavies, which have always been such a controversial lynch-pin of this game, didn't get the short end of the stick. Not only did they get their primary anti-infantry weapon nerfed, but they also didn't get any pretty new dropsuits, so really, where is the heavy love? I know this game isn't over, and I'm positive a time will come (soon, even?) where heavie's glory is restored, the aim mechanics are fleshed out.
But I am a firm believer that "Back" is never the right direction to go. Keep moving forward CCP. Forward, and upwards. Uprising is a great starting point. Everything got nerfed. Now do SMALL TWEAKS from here on out. Buff ONE GUN a LITTLE BIT, see what it changes.
and NO MORE NINJA BUFFS/NERFS!!! If you tweak/change something, LET US KNOW! |

Berserker007 wrote:game is complete trash now. Worst build overall by far. Only positives are no more UVT, 6 man squad, and game looks nicer. Otherwise everything else is horrible
yeah, this build is way worse than the one where the game hard-froze your PS3 after every 2 games, or the one where everyone had free militia tanks and dropships, or the one where the creo dron breach AR was the most powerful gun in the game, or the one where everyone had proto everything in a week, and whenever you called in a tank, there was a high possibility the game would keep spawning in infinite amounts of them, to where you had everyone on your team in a tank.
no, I agree, this is waaaaaaaaay worse than all that. |

But it seems okay so far. Might just be because everyone's in militia suits right now. Except for the people I've seen running Proto already, probably at the expense of all/most of their core skills.
yeah, I run proto, and have core skills. just.. I don't have a gun :P |

I guess it worked.
/sarcasm
I think it was more to increase longevity, and slow down the progression a bit to allow for more specialized roles.
The most powerful people in the first year will be those who can switch at will between roles, and be proficient in each role.
In two years, it will be people who can switch between each race, and roll, with a plethora of weapons at their disposal.
This should be a game of years, not weeks, or months. that is why I have patience with CCP. I also have a good bit of hope that eventually, they will get the balancing right (only to then break it again because a bunch of noobs complain about "x is OP!" |
