But I DO see a very plain disparity between classes now. If you went medium frames, you are most likely OK with the game (unless you were one of those AR snipers from last build) but if you are light or heavy frame, you hate this build. Well, honestly, even scouts aren't totally at a loss. it's mainly heavies. (and some vehicle guys still)
The HMG nerf was overkill IMO. I think ballistic rounds should have an inherent range bonus. Not crazy off the charts, but definitely if a blaster AR guy is hitting you, you should be able to hit him with ballistic rounds, but to varying degrees of sucess.
For instance, in DUST an HMG should be able to shoot up to say 50m or so, (Just an example, i'm horrible with distances) but at 50m, the rounds should be so dispersed and have lost so much momentum that very few would hit, and those that did hit should do very little damage. that said, at 40m, the dispersion wouldn't be as bad, and more would hit, and do more damage, etc.
The way it is now, at like 25 or 30 feet, the bullets just... magically disappear. I wasn't aware DUST involved magic. with Blaster rounds, I can understand how the plasma would eventually disappear into thin air, and not hit someone 60m from you. No weapon has that bad of dropoff IRL, and in this case, real physics should have some kind of play. I understand that bullet disappearance can be used to signify "dropoff", since at a certain range, the round wouldn't be in the air anymore. but most weapons nowadays can shoot for hundreds of meters before the bullet hits the ground.
At any rate, I just want to see more diversity on the battlefield. and this recent nerf to range has upset a lot of people (I personally like the change of pace, but thats just me apparently). It's alarming when even some of the more open-minded people you know stop playing because the class they chose is so ridiculously nerfed that it's just upsetting.
Put it this way, buff the HMG range to about what it was before Uprising, then wait to see how many people complain after that, and about what. I don't think damage is too much of a problem with the HMG, as I've seen boundless HMGs rip people apart within their range.
edit: also, people are apparently having issues with the controls and hit-detection. I'm not experiencing either, but whatever, I guess they are issues.
