Explosives
Basic knowledge of explosives.
3% reduction to CPU usage per level.
I was wondering just why my grenades are still full CPU even though I have 3 levels into this skill.
So I am here asking are grenades not an explosive and thus not effected by the this skill?
Was hoping that CCP would have fixed this major short-coming in the skill system..... just what the skill does an example, maybe all the items affected by it. |

I know you are super busy dealing with all the nonsense you failed to consider when trying to put this game out on the market, and I had a thought that maybe you would fix this on the 14th.
Just why doesn't this skill effect affect the grenades?
You required me to get a level 1 in the Explosives skill with the tag line of "3% reduction of CPU usage per level." in order to get grenades level 1 thru 5. In case it wasn't obvious, WHAT ITEM(s) Specifically does this skill reduce the CPU by 3%?
That is all you put there. And couldn't even tell me why grenades are not explosives.
This compared to other bigger problems is a no-brainer by comparison and should take but a moment to answer or resolve, yet it fell by the wayside to more pressing concerns.
But then maybe this bump is from the fact that you (CCP) are telling me, that I have a chance to get a additional 1 TIME ONLY respec-ialization of my skill points if I submit a ticket to you, can you at least tell me some things about the game to help me at least decide where my skill points should be used.
I'd like to know the RANGE on my weapons (ALL of them, even tell me how far my clone can toss a grenade)
I'd like to know just what the KICK and Dispersion Levels on my weapon are - if they have one and I have to spend 2 weeks of heavy SP grinding to find out if a 3X skill is worth it over another one. (hey if it is the same for each one, that just made your job easier, why not discuss it.) Or discuss the fact that there is no Kick & Dispersion skills associated with the flavor of the moment the Scrambler Rifles?
I'd like to know just what is the direct damage of my AV grenade, frag. If they have a seek range and then claim that one is different than another show it, so I have a comparison to learn when to use what.
I'd like to know when ISK Contact Grenades will be available on the market since thier AUR counterparts are ripping me up for 18cpu and 3pg while my core locus at 48cpu and 6pg make fitting some things annoyingly hard to do. (see definition of Pay to Win)
These are just some of the things I have taken advantage of knowing in other fully released games that I have played and was wondering when I might get at least some of this squared away since CCP also put a time limit on when I can request a RESPEC.
About your skill tree.... SHOW the effect. Efficacy is a bad word here, case in point something simple like: Shield Extensions -Advanced understanding of dropsuit shield enhancement. -Unlocks access to Shield Extender dropsuit Modules. - +2% to Shield Extender Module efficacy per level. [Max +10%] (simple no brainer here....(2% / 10%) Basic 22Hp ( 0.44 / 2.2) =24.2 ; Enhanced 33Hp ( 0.66 / 3.3) =36.3 ; Complex 66Hp (1.32 / 6.6) =72.6
Now for the confusing part, CCP used the same equation for a percentage already... how did you do the math? Shield Recharging -Advanced understanding of dropsuit shield recharging. (which is not that much different than enhancing a specific function) -Unlocks access to Shield Recharger dropsuit Modules. - +3% to Shield Recharger Module efficacy per level. [Max +15%] (For this we will need a volunteer suit, as the Basic Shld Rech does 15%, enh 25% , Comp 42% because if you thought it just added to the % you are wrong, ie 15% does not become 18% with 1 SP level; it is actually 3% of the value you get from the first equation) Amarr A-1 Medium Frame Assault (Basic Non Racial) Shld Rech; 20HP/s Basic 15% = 3 (so 3% of 3 is 0.09 with a max of 15% at 0.45) = 23.45HP/s with Module Skill at Lvl5. Enh 25% = 5 (0.15 / 0.75) = 25.75HP/s Comp 42% = 8.4 (0.252 / 1.26) = 29.66HP/s
I haven't even bothered with stacking penalties as neither did CCP as they still didn't fix the Damage Bonus section of the dropsuit fitting to actually tell me how much damage I am doing correctly. |

Fitting screen doesn't show skill effect on module's show info, or even that little area on the bottom right. However, you can see the effect when you are about to fit the module. Select it in the list, but don't click X to place it yet. Now hit Square to see stats and look at the reduction in CPU/PG that is used. Calculate the difference and it should be the actual CPU/PG usage of the module with skills appied |

Fair enough, that is why I choose those 2 skills to demonstrate that part of my problem.
But I don't recall seeing an area in the game that does what you are saying for all of the suits headings and would account for the all the modules equiped.
There is no sheild delay , shld depleted value display ; scan profile, precision, radius....which take note, effect the suit and not the module. Why not tell players in the menu in the game looking at what it does, and that for most of the scan related items a lower number is better. |

It is nice to know that any questions we have get answered in such a timely fashion.
Maybe if I made more outrageous statements I would at least get a warning from GM, I used the search feature looking for some sort of answer to my question and came up with nothing from a Dev as a reply.
And to those replies here I have gotten, if Explosives skill actually worked as described by core locus would be 4cpu less at level 3 and 7 cpu less at level 5, since it is not I must assume by the transitive property that Grenades are NOT Explosives or the SKILL itself is a mistake. |

You are right. I guess CCP wants 3rd party developers to do that. Therefore, shameless plug: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=67188
Please note Uprising version is not ready. There an archive of Chromosome version (which you can play around with). The Uprising version will be released soon, but i will need community's help in getting correct data from in-game (the data-dump they provided is inaccurate in place, and outdated in other places) |

You bring up a lot of good points, and CCP would go a long way to make as much info as possible to us players. This all gets exacerbated by the fact there are a lot of puzzle pieces making for a complex and rich game. but it's all kind of that much jarring because their presentation needs a lot of refinement. You can tell they have been so focused on the larger chunks of the picture that they have severely neglected the finer points. The details.
In all seriousness, they should find the guy on their team that has a known eyeball for details and understands how to make an interface rich, detailed, and accessible. Then they need to make it his responsibility to make that happen. The longer they go on like this the larger the mess will get, and that will be the first impression players get. |

Maybe if I demanded that they changed the name of the company to does not communicate, DNC or called out a specific DEV or GM to change their name.
I refuse to twitter, you can keep facebook, I haven't had to IRC since the early 90's and that was mostly for robotech rpg play, and I refuse to talk to a CPM which just reminds me of the greek council from revenge of the nerds before the nerds took over.
I have given it over a week, since i patiently asked for some clarification to the then just changed skill tree.... now there are supposedly more changes on the way and once again everything is being discussed in hushed tones behind closed doors.
Is this not a released game, who is in charge of customer service or customer relations? I'm about to take it over to the PSN Forums where CCP has less control over the content of my questions and slightly less of the ability to censor statements.
I have posted up the follow up questions I have come to realize are just as important... but apparently not as much fun to troll by a dev and I am supposed to listen to what they say when they claim their game is done.
When are they going to put the serial numbers on this 3 dollar bill? |

Yeah, there is a reason why I have you and about 88% of my local blocked, hrmm I wonder what the Lag efficacy would be if I could block them all.
Your little jib about dust being never done, well if they keep changing the core game mechanics and what not, they better just make respecs free and part of the in game option systems or at least tell more people about it than the little brown nosed brigade they seem to discuss things with first. Or they could just decide what is going to be the best gear and just give that to everyone and get rid of all the variations to the same suit. One suit to rule them all.
CCP customer relations: And I again ask is this game released? If yes, then why not answer my simple questions? Just be aware I am about to write an editorlal article about the game, telling people to not bother with Dust514 and if they must to just keep letting the passive SP build up, as it is still not a finished product worth the time or effort to play. With only 3 modes and nothing else to do I don't expect it will be well recieved. |

Well the article I wrote got bumped for a new tablet.
But I am not done asking questions CCP.
I'm curious what does an LAV being upside down have to do with my AV grenades not hitting or damaging the vehicle? ( A' la my AV grenade tries to bury itself into and attempts to travel thru the terrain under the vehicle instead of hitting the soft exposed underbelly.)
Secondly, why are you seemingly rewarding a players bad driving skills with the auto vehicle uprighting? I have seen the majority of this from the LAV's but then I saw this happen to a tank that got called in a bad location. I thought to myself; well, no need to worry about that upside down tank on the side of the small hill near line harvest D, only to turn around and watch dumbfounded as it seemed to roll over like a turtle and proceed to start stomping blues. Why does the vehicle flip over only to end up like a cat landing on its feet and back on its wheels or tracks while taking no damage from said accident? While this seems like a good idea, it seems a bit unfair that they take no damage from some roll-overs; especially since my clone can't jump off a double stacked crate without taking 60 to 100 points worth of shield damage. |
