So, a lot of folks seem to be having a ton of issues with aiming on this new build. Both posts on this forum, and the inability for anyone to shoot me for a few hours last night have shown this.
I am by no means amazing at this game, but I did have a ton of success last night running solo. Ran into some "elite" corps and noticed, they all performed far less elite than normal. So it seems this issue is wide spread, and I so far have mitigated it. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not, but heres my tips so far:
1) When using an automatic weapon, burst fire. This allows you to keep your aim pretty steady. This was not required at all in the last build, you could hold the button down and sweep ARs like a lazer. Bursting provided a small boost then but now its pretty huge.
2) Lead your shots, let them come to your bullets. That guy spritning acorss the map? Aim ahead of him slightly, then slow down your aim to let him catch up to your bullets. This helps you get a good tracking on him but also helps mitigate hit detection issues as you will start off aiming ahead of him and can tell when your bullets start hitting.
3) Know your ranges. So far this has been huge. The Tact AR isnt much better than it used to be, but its range dominance is now amazing. It is very easy to keep other ARs out of range. The best part is, people "tickle" you with barely in-range shots to provide a nice warning that they are getting "close". So don't engage with non tact ARs from range, and if you do use a tact, keep people at range (easy to do as a scout with your sprint/movement speed).
4) OMG Nades. Ok, notice how nobody can hit anyone in CQC? Guess what is very easy to do, cook a nade and throw it 2 feet in front of you. Nades have had a slight change to range of explosion, but not much. This is huge because all guns have had their range nerfed, and all movement speed has been reduced. This means the effective range of nades have been massively boosted compared to everything else.
5) Scrambler pistols. Yeah. Im fortunate enough to have fallen in love with them in the previous build. But they remain pretty much untouched. This, like nades, means they are comparitively far more deadly. The DPS of scramblers, even without headshot bonus, is way higher than ARs. If you aim at their head? Wowsers. Get Scrambler to at least level 4 for that 10 round clip and spray it at the enemies head, it only takes like 1 or 2 headshots to down most players.
That's all I have for now. Please feel free to share your other tips youve noticed so far with this build. |

They adjusted the sensitivity settings. I felt like a noob for the first few matches, but I have adjusted to the change and am having no problems now. |

Does the x/y sensitivity move faster or slower with higher numbers. Trying to regain balance to stick push vs amount moved on DS3 |

I think higher=faster.
I need to adjust mine back up, I had them pretty low for the last build.
Also, do the sensitivity effect ADS turn speed, or just unzoomed turn speed? |

I adjusted my X value to 40 and it works like a charm for me. I hate the way they adjusted the sensitivity, or maybe I was too accustomed to the old technique. I do find it harder to aim, regardless of sensitivity settings.
Another thing that's annoying is the amount of noobs in prototype suits running around in public matches. I mean, all the better if they're losing 100's of thousands of ISK each match, but boy, is it irritating. |

Well, the noobz in proto is because everyone became a rich man. I somehow have 100 mil ISK when i never had above 10 before. I dunno what I had in my stock that made me so rich, but i assume im not alone. (human endurance event items, likely) |

Yeah, I had 82 million, and my other accounts had about 70-90 combined. I can't complain, but people are going to run out of their ISK quickly if they're not more careful lol. |

You probably had a bunch for dropships, and tanks. |

Also, do the sensitivity effect ADS turn speed, or just unzoomed turn speed? It seemed like both were affected, when I tested it out. |
