CCP indicated that the class specialization would be for higher SP characters. It works fine as is and really isn't that many SP to get into a LV1 Logi suit of any race. |

So new players won't get a chance to even try the logi role? Every class has a militia and standard variant to their class, why not logi? A simple two equipment slot, no sidearm suit should suffice for both militia and basic. If logistics is kept as such a high investment, they're going to wind up an endangered species. |

This Getting into a level 1 of any logi is about 2 mill sp. That's stupidly high. |

If you want a logi to carry militia nanohives and a militia rep tool then yeah I guess you're right 2mil sp is a steep investment for that...but on the other hand, any general level suit with 1 equipment slot and a supply depot can do the same thing, ammo, reps and injectors with higher meta levels. Pick one, I know it sounds wierd but getting out an advanced level or higher nano hive is something that will make the wp pile up quick. A drop uplink is a good thing for any suit in it's equipment slot. An injector that revives a person to 50% or better is also good and reduces clone/isk loss on the battlefield and they are all able to be done individually from an advanced level medium assault suit. Just because you only have one equipment does not mean that you can't logi like the pros. |

shaman oga wrote:Please select what is the most reasonable option, constructive answers will be added.
- Add a basic medium frame armor with 2 equipment slot
- Unlock level 1 spec at level 1 basic, and so and so.
- Add a new basic frame for logi and eliminate the logi spec from medium frame.
My thoughts are that we need 4 basic frame (classes) and each classes should have 2 specializations. Logi spec of medium frame (assault frame) can be substituted by grenadier or AV guy i don't know. I choose option 3 1 yes 2 yes 3 no that said there should be more in all basic frames |

so you want the logi's to have no way of defending themselves. part of my job is to push in to finish off what my teammates started, and support the living and revive the dead. sometimes that requires a powerful gun, if I did not have that, you would not be revived as easily |

There should be some form of Logi oriented lower Meta frame. Logi already have a higher average SP cost for a full proto fit than any other infantry role (aside from perhaps Heavy). For that matter while I haven't run the new numbers for Uprising in prior builds Logi/Heavy both cost more SP than many equivalent. In additon to the SP full Logi fits cost more ISK as well.
It seems odd that a role which already pays a higher cost in SP, ISK and lack of a side arm (in addition to lower base stats) should also have the added burden of not being able to run anything except proto fits (BPOs aside).
Also on a related note all the folks who think Logi equals only Medic (it doesn't and isn't meant too) seem to have no experience with actual combat medics or doctrine. One of my frequent squad mates in Dust was a combat medic and they were trained in no uncertain terms to focus on the fire fight first and use their medic skills second. There's no reason to assume that the medic spec'ed Logi's in Dust should be any different.

I use a gun. I logi, the idea is the role is a supporting one. It need not have max skills and even a militia one while being a bit under powered for my play style works too. I will often finish off a guy my squad started to kill or start to kill them to have them finish him off but the gun is not the tool most important to the logi, it is his equipment and squad. The gun is an afterthought. |
