Quote:<[CCP]Wolfman>: when it comes to the HMG, we're just going to watch the numbers and see how it performs
Quote:<[CCP]Wolfman>: we will be watching the HMG stats to see how things perform. Then we'll make a decision on whether or not to make any further tweaks.
I have enjoyed playing this game as a heavy from the beginning of this game. I'm not sure what the numbers can tell you about enjoyment levels. Listen to the people who have given you detailed feedback.
It is no longer enjoyable to use the hmg the range is way to low to be effective, spending most of the match stationary or running real slow to the next fight only to die before getting in optimal range. Lots of work = not fun.
Changing the base damage means if I do get close enough to someone to shoot it takes dang near every shot in my gun with proficiency five to take someone down. I reload twice as much, and am gimped for the next fight. If I was somehow able to kill someone it is usually with help someone else's help and I only got an assist for my efforts. = more reloading less kills = not so much fun.
Not sure what else has happened but my overall view of the LIne of View has decreased increasing my blind spots of people shooting me from outside of my spacial awareness. Which really doesn't matter cause they are out if my range to fire back anyway, can't run away because well im fat, can't turn and fire at them to hopefully scare them off cause well I cant see them. Besides they would giggle at my marsh mellow firing hmg and still put me down= not so much fun.
Decreasing the staife ability of the heavy on top of the above mentioned means that what is supposed to be my optimal kill range which is now 15-29 m at best. We are back to the hopping Scott/assault and even logie. For what ever reason with my settings to a 100 I can get out straifed in my "close combat kill zone role". I thought we get rid of this a few builds ago. So now that my damage is gone I can't protect myself from bugs bunny logie! This is extremely no fun= can't run away from them can't turn fast enough to track them, can't shoot enough damage to kill them= no fun.
I think that the numbers may not reflect the sum of all the changes made at once please forget the numbers and listen to the players! It is not fun or enjoyable to play the HMG. How will you track the numbers when there is less players using the hmg? |

Thanks, I hope they see the overall enjoyment level is decreased. Just looking at the individual stats wont give them |

I would love to have stayed Heavy, and its not too late for me - I haven't allocated any skills.
The fact is that if the super heavies (of which you are one) are finding it hard/no fun, then the average and bad (that would be me) heavies have no hope at all.
There are a few days before the new weapons come out so I will continue with starter suits till then.
Thanks for the feedback. |

If the HMG can be brought back to how it was last build I would be happy, but now I'm a sad panda. |

Well said. I've been a pretty solid heavyfor a month or so now usually going 2:1 or 3:1 (sorry I'm no imperfect) but last night I played about 5 games and was struggling to get any kills. It was rough. The HMG is such a joke that people don't even bother attacking me unless I'm alone or my squadmates are down because it can't kill anyone. There were a couple of times last night where I had enemies locked in my crosshairs inside 10m and when I started ahooting they just ran away even though I was unloading into them for about 3 seconds. I'm probably foing to start fitting assault rifles just to be able to get some kills and help my team until they fix the HMG. It makes me sad because a good heavy used to inspire twrror, now if we use heavy weapons we are just walking meatsacks. |

My squadmates running heavies were doing pretty well when they were supported by my equipment and extra pair of eyes. Teamwork works.
Final game before downtime it was me and two heavies against three assaults. We led by 2-3 kills when the game ended and caught them off guard once managing to take their assault dropship out before they managed to take off. They were an organised squad sticking together, but with one of our heavies flanking (yea, a heavy can flank) and the other heavy drawing enemy fire and attention and staying alive with my repper, we managed to disorientate and outplay the class which apparently should dominate now. iv only been heavy for about 2 weeks, it was fun until last night, but from the other side of the fence I don't see what people were moaning about, I enjoyed running into heavys, it forced a re think, a change in strategy, like running into a stone wall, now how do I get over it, personaly I think ill be bycoting the heavy suit, to see if any changes are made |

How you have put it about as optimistic as possible...
The HMG has become pretty much useless. This is due to the EXTREME range nerf... 20m and under, and 20m is far from effective range for an HMG now..
Im on 1 side of the tabletop, shooting at someone on the other side, and I'm getting smashed while he is taking ZERO damage.
the damage nerf is a little disappointing, but using mods can at least let the HMG user put someone down, provided they are in shotgun range...
I can agree with decreasing the overall effective range of the HMG from the previous build.. I had SS maxed out and it was at virtually AR range with max effectiveness, but now I can throw a nade farther than I can damage an opponent with an HMG.
Sure with a team I can stay alive, but aside from being an overweight, slowly moving target for the entire enemy team to shoot at while I can hope my teammates kill them first, and me hopefully lucking out to get 47 assists in 1 match... Well that's not what I'd call a fun experience.
I'm really not gonna keep on with the QQ cause everyone who has tried the HMG knows exactly what im talking about. Especially when all suits are shield variants yet movement on ALL suits is that of the old armor variant.
really at a loss for words but CCP has either been misinformed with this or simply frowns upon HMG users. either way this is a serious issue I hope gets addressed VERY soon |

Also CCP if you meant the HMG to be a suppressive fire weapon then you need to make the HMG hit harder and really for a lack of a better term **** up peoples aim! |

Wow.. read title all wrong. thought is said "Does tracking the numbers reflect the level of HMG employment?"
I was like "well I know a few heavies who's lost thier jobs, but.." |
