Between accidental SP allocation due to unfamiliarity with the new skill tree setup, a number of broken skills, and weapon/role imbalances that literally had thousands cursing the heavens...
...we need a reset.
Another SP reset would cool everyone off, and allow these things to really be reviewed.
Quite a lot of people are really really REALLY feeling that their SP has been flushed down the drain, due to a bug or some other scenario.
I highly recommend that another SP reset be performed, and that players then come to the forums to give calm, concise, and preferably data-supported feedback and critique of what they are experiencing.
Right now, there is a lot of rage and anger over the current balances and bugs, and the amount of SP committed by many in the face of such things is burning up morale.
If an SP reset sounds good to you, please like this post and/or create a thread explaining your need. |

I believe it could help a lot of people. I myself assumed (rather foolishly) that I would be able to get pretty much what I had before in terms of skills, and so proceeded to just skill up what I had before (without making mistakes and wasting SP), but I started with weapons and when I got to dropsuits I was screwed! My SP (4.2mil) doesn't go anywhere near as far as it did before and I am stuck in a crappy dropsuit. I am a Logi AR gunner and have some real issues with some of the changes made to this role, but will not go into that in this thread. |

I calculated it would take nearly four times what I have to get to where I was. I can save some because I can focus on what I want but at the least it will take two to three times the SP.
We had escalated SP that gave elevated rewards because without that nobody would have been able to test Proto and Officer weapons.
Anyway, good luck with your efforts. Welcome to New Eden. |

I hadn't thought about it this way, I was thinking they adjusted the SP for more longterm gameplay to fit in with the MMO feel.
That said, nobody said you had to spend all of your SP today. I used most of mine up, and I've got a logi suit almost about where I was pre-re-spec, and I have no problem with that. The reduced skills that is.

My solution to everyone asking for a respec is to look at your skills chosen. How many of them can be useful with the build as it is and how many need either more SP or are not needed? If the majority of your skills are usefull across the board to some degree then consider droping down to a General suit, fitting it with the best set of gear you can muster with the skills you have (even if it means using your BPO weapons rather than the ones you speced into) and making more SP just like you did when you started playing dust. The general level suits offer a basic Assault type setup with no role specific bonuses. They are also easier to fit basic gear on than the role specific suits that require several million SP to spec into. This should give you a fighting chance. If you are having trouble earning SP then go to Skirmish rather than Ambush. SP earned in Skirmish still accumulates based on time in game as well as WP so the more points you capture and time in game, the better you will do and faster you will accumulate those SP that you want to spend on other skills. |

It'll all come back around. What seems like a wasted skill now will be useful when the balance of the game changes.
I vote no reset. |

This point was brought up in another feedback thread. In a way to satisfy both players and CCP, this is a possible system for 'unlimited' skill resets.
Quote:In addition to a moderate isk or aur payment, your new clone is penalized with a reduction of 4-8% of your total lifetime skill points. This may be equivalent to losing the training points and implants of one's poded capsuleer in EVE. It requires a long investment to regain what was lost--yet a majority of your abilities are not lost. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=71063&find=unread |

There is so much to test. I to bungled some skill points in testing as the skills were not clear on how they interacted for my logibro crew. I would like a reset as well now knowing what was not posted at the time, how some skills are broken and how others do not act as they should.
One example, as some of you may know, now that investing in different special suits that say "suit type bonus: etc." do not stack for every suit type. It is not specified that it will only work for that suit because beneath that is another statements saying the racial variant bonus of the suit. Yet the skill only applies to that suit type, that racial varient. That was not listed, it needed to be tested.
Allowing the skilling to stack would have been op - but it needed to be verified and now we can recommend that the writing clarify such statements like adding the racial variant name to both skills listed so as to announce that it only works on that suit and not just the class.
Skill reset for the 14th please. And so far the game is quite beautiful, thank you |

Please look hereat why your spent sp was not a waste. Really, this early in a build there are going to be mistakes. Stop your moaning and find a way to take advantage of the skills you now have. If you really hate the skills pretend you are now a new player again and skill into something else. Keep the old skills around (no need to delete an old character since those skills don't actually get in the way of anything) and work in a new direction. Remember, CCP will fix the issues and your skills will not be useless. |

Thank you for trying to be helpful. I appreciate the intent but I would demand a fix for mislabeled information by any other retailer of a product. While there are limitations to this, and this is just a game and completely separate from a real and functional life where no one would really sue or go into a legal battle over it - though it seems many people want to - I will have to live with it.
That, however, will never stop me from voicing my opinion, asking for what I desire, or stop me from seeking it. So, thank you but I will very much continue a push for what I want. As should you. I want a respec, you don't . I've heard the opposing side's views and heartily disagree with them, thus the reason for posting in a thread about wanting a reset, not one asking for another solution to my problem. Thanks again for trying to help, but i'm a little grumpy and your pretend world doesn't help.
But i've tried this world of pretend... only bad things happen there, but hey, while i'm there i'll pretend i'm a trillionaire, buy CCP, and then order a reset. Whew, problem solved... oh, and somehow I also ended world hunger, sued for world peace, and was declared a living saint of nearly every religion.... good day overall. That was nice. Now back to the order at hand: In this life I would like a skill reset because the descriptions and applications where botched. |

Also, read the posts why your spent sp was not a waste... it was not applicable to the situations i've been hearing - yes wasting it on a heavy may be valuable in the future but for now we need our core skills. There are valuable skills, necessary skills, and unneeded skill in my role. Once my role is completely buffed I may look at that article again to gain a different view... but until then anything that detracts from my role is a waste. trash. midden. dung. junk. scrap. offal. swill... need i go on? |
