The yellow logi business is a bit much. It singles out medics on the field for the enemy to kill - more anonymous suits make more sense from a combat perspective. It's the same reason you wouldn't want an officer on the field with gold epaulets and a feathered hat - you don't want to make them a target.
That side, the yellows are generally hideous and eye-bleeding as suit colors. There was a joke attached to the firebrand suit as I recall about how brave/confident these users must be to wear such an ostentatious suit. That one was red. The new logis, like the caldari, are much much more visible - and that's not something every medic would necessarily be interested in. It makes the firebrand look conservative, and it's the "standard" suit design.
I like that the game is more... colorful now, but it would be nice if being an eyesore wasn't forced on the support players who already have to invest more SP than the other roles. |

Either way, now that all classes are getting standard, assault and logistics, how else are we supposed to tell logis from non-logis? It's not like it is better as a logi in Chromosome, what, with all Minmatar dropsuits being instantly recognized as logistics. |

You're not supposed to be able to tell them from non-logis at glance. If your suit scanning is up to snuff, you can tell suit type and grade. All you should be able to tell by looking is the frame-type and race (assuming you recognize such things). If medics were non-combatants that wouldn't be shot, flagging them might make sense. Marking logis yellow now just makes them look like Pinatas... a high value target. |
