[Bugs]- Still getting regularly DC'd from games, along with my entire squad, but this will likely be the first thing CCP hotfixes/problem-solves, so I'm not particularly worried about this.
[Gameplay]- Playing through a full game with a full six man squad, I have to say that I don't think the balance is as ridiculously off as many people are saying on these forums. The new aiming system is a little strange, but you can become accustomed to it with time. It's great to see such a great diversity in the player base now, I rarely see two people using the same frame and race in one area at any time. I have to say it is much harder to revive team-mates when they don't realize they need to press "call for help" in order for me to see them, and my repair tool seems to have a harder time locking onto people. The addition of the repair indicator is a great help however, so now I don't get blueberries running out of my range as much. The game seems more vibrant, and it's nice to see that not every map is surrounded by sniper-infested hills, but some maps still retain this feature, unfortunately.
[Skill System]- SP Sinks just about sums up the new system. As a logi I don't have a big problem with the massive Electronics/Engineering costs, but I have no doubt they have a profound effect on the CPU/PG deprived. Core skills like Field Mechanics have also seen a small raise, from x1 to x2, which isn't a big deal, but when you change 5 or 6 skills by increasing their multipliers by 1 each, it makes a huge difference that wasn't in any way necessary. I don't have half the amount of logi-related skills as before, and I didn't even have all of my SP into logistics last build.
[Overall]- 6/10, I wasn't blown away, despite all the hype over this new build that said otherwise. I don't think the new weapons on the 14th will change my rating much.
Good review, and indeed the call to help is one of the most broken things in the game atm, i played as a medic for a while and no one called in triage, no one. It was abismal. The only things i really disliked were indeed the call to help, the turn speed is lower, the raven suit issue for gallente guys. id give it a 7 in 10 |
