To unlock Damage Control Units (A vehicle only module) I need Dropsuit armor upgrade, Dropsuit upgrades, Dropsuit core upgrades, dropsuit upgrades level 2, and dropsuit engineering.
To unlock Shield Extenders (for vehicles) I need Dropsuit upgrades level 2, Dropsuit SHield upgrades, and Shield recharging.
Why do I need to invest so much SP into DROPSUIT module crap to unlock VEHICLE modules? What the kitten is this kitten?
Also, Enforcer HAVs. You have to invest a couple million SP past what's needed for a Gunnlogi and pay 6x the isk price of a Gunnlogi for a tank that has:
Less Shield, Less armor, Less CPU, the same PG, and one more low slot.
It needs a buff somewhere/everywhere.
There are also a few reports of vehicle skills not working all together.
Garrett Blacknova wrote:Surprised nobody in this thread has mentioned that vehicle PG and CPU don't increase when you level the skills which are meant to increase them.
Not sure if this discussion belongs in feedback/requests or tech support. Sounds like it's not working as intended, to me.
Here is a link to my general thread about the same issues. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=756190&

eKona vinDar wrote:Well here we are, we have finally reached the day where CCP has completely destroyed HAVs....
I suppose we all knew they would do it eventually... they where just too much fun to drive, ride in, and blow up... and apparently too much fun is a bad thing for a game.
So now we yet another vanilla shooter. What could have been the game changing factor for Dust (vehicles), turning it into a revolutionary success, has been reduced to something that is just going to upset the players.
I have spent a good deal of money on Dust so far... but I can guarentee you that I, and many more, will not spend a penny more on this game until CCP takes HAVs seriously.
Here are a few changes I have noticed, that break the HAVs.....
1. Bug that doesn't give you your PG bonus with engineering skill... This is fixable but hugely embarassing for CCP, and if it is not fixed well before the 14th, CCP will have totally screwed up planetary conquest and will be dealing with hate mail for months (a great deal of it from me)
2. The biggest a most offensive changed to HAVs is the skill points required to spec into it. It now requires about 50% more SP to spec back to where I was in tanking. Carapace armor hardeners are now extremely expensive SP wise.
3. The cost is even more ridiculous. CCP said they where making the HAV modules cheaper, but the turrets more expensive... well what they really did was basicly double the price of turrets, and reduce ONLY A FEW of the vehicle module prices by 10K isk here and 20K isk there.... overall the same tank from the last build will cost you about twice as much ISK in this build.
4. DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!! Well I hope you like losing isk!!! Cuz thats what HAV piloting is all about now that your tank cant point upwards enough to defend against AV naders and forge gunners sitting JUST BARELY out of your vertical range. So... how to beat a fully fit pro tank? Jump in a militia suit with some militia AV nades and a militia launcher, post yourself pretty much anywhere on the map at least 30 feet from the ground... now your militia gear will suffice to take out even the strongest of tanks... since they will not be able to point at you... NICE BALANCING CCP!!! YOUR FREAKING GENIUS!!!
5. Aiming and damage is totally screwed too! CCP seems to have completely redone the aiming system, so now your 80GJ blaster cant hit the broad side of a barn! No literally if your in a scout suit you will move plenty fast enough at walking pace to dodge the accuracy of the new 80GJ cannons.... Oh and even though the damage is shown to be the same on the module description, it is clearly not.... either the dmg has been nerfed as well or the accuracy has been nerfed so bad that I am only hiting 50% as much as before.
6. Invisible swarm launchers!!! Ok not quite invisible, but they might as well be. Tiny tiny tiny orange (which blends with the map) dots coming at you are very hard to notice, exspecially with how fast they are now.
7. Installation turrets that look like they are not moving, or facing the other direction.... ARE ACTUALLY SHOOTING YOU! How freaking awesome is that... in an effort to get better framerate CCP has totally screwed up what you see and when you see it. If you are a good distance away from a rail turret, enough to see it and enough to get hit by it... it is very likely that you will not see which direction the turret is actually facing, or if it is shooting.
8. Scanning.... impossible. Common sense would say that if your dropsuit has a built in scanner, that your tank would have an even better built in scanner (because it has more room and power DUH), but it doesn't. So combined with the fact that you cant point up, and cant tell if that person is an enemy or not... you are going to have a hard time figuring out where your getting hit from, and what you should be shooting at.
9. Magical push off of tanks... what is this magical force that is pushing people off my tank? I didnt know the Eve universe had magic.... I thought it was more realistic... you know like being able to ride ontop of a tank for transportation or to heal it while its moving.... so now all your teammates have lost interest in staying with your tank and following its lead, because they cannot get ontop to keep up when your moving fast
So in the end CCP has likely upset nearly all players who use tanks. Some of which, like me, will take a lot more winning over to get back as a paying customer.
Nothing will satisfy me except fixing all of the above issues... completely.
I hope that anyone else who uses tanks will join me in an AURUM BOYCOTT until these issues are NOT ONLY repaired, but we are compensated for the aggravation.

Thx for adding my thread. I forgot to mention the straight up wackness of the shield extenders.... obviously thats a bug because otherwise the vehicle shield skills would be uselss....
A bug, that could be taken advantage of, and a bug that unless fixed well before the 14th, will put a huge dent into CCP's reputation and all that hype surrounding planetary conquest...
PC with no tanks, or egg shell tanks? No thank you |

I still can't bring myself to put SP in dropsuit skils to unlock vehicle modules.
Why would I do this? What if they fix it later? Will they refund SP for those skills? |

CCP, stop nerfing everything that is big. Tanks should be able to take much much more damage than they should. Too much AV not enough defenses. When Marauders come back they better be so powerful killing one is worth a prize, we want, no need, no DEMAND an unmovable metal brick of death and destruction that make AV Junkies cry as they get mowed down in their masses |

Troll...
At any rate I've invested 5 mil into shield tanking (saving 1 mil incase they switch what vehicle skills we need to be able to use shield modules).
The nerf to the angle the rail cannons can operate at is RIDICULOUS. I cannot aim anywhere near me unless I am pointed down on a slope.
If I'm pointed down a slope I can't fire level to the horizontal axis of the map.
I can't fire up unless im pointed up on a slope which is INCREDIBLY frustrating with these new assault dropships.
And to top it all off, in first person view with a rail cannon, you used to be able to only look up and down to the degree you could fire. This prevented us from grossly miscalculating where we can and can not shoot.
I almost died to a rail installation because I was unable to fire over a wall to shoot back at it. Not okay. |

Bumping it back to the top.
The elevation/depression nerf of vehicle turrets is completely unwarranted and unacceptable. |

How come my turret can point in the fender, but can aim up more then a few degrees? Seems almost like the vertical angle was switched. |

Lost a tank to an assault dropship today.
I couldn't figure out what was hitting me (thanks 5m scan range) until I was half HP with no shield booster.
Once I found it, there was nothing I could do to respond to the threat except run because I can't aim up at it.
Lost my gunnlogi to a proto blaster. sigh. |

the same is with shield extenders, CCP claimed the skills were pushed apart between vehicles and drop suits so hopefully they fix it.

So the Dropsuit skill requirements are fixed. One checkmark down on a very large list.
Did I get SP refunded for the points I put into dropsuits to get my shield extenders? lets find out.... |
