Barring the purchase of an AUR suit, players have to obtain level five in the racial medium suits before being able to use the logistics suit. I think that requires somewhere around 1.8m skill points, far more than the 500,000 new characters start with.
Also, it seems to me that the basic suits (light, medium, heavy) are more or less equivalent to the other role suits (scout, assault, sentinel) in stats and slot configurations. It seems like logistics players have a 1.8m skill point barrier to entry, and a 1.2m skill point difference to equip prototype suits, compared to the other roles who have comparable equipment without needing to upgrade the x10 logistics skill.
This information is AFAIK. If I'm mistaken, please correct me. |

I think even the AUR-Logi-Suit is listed with the same requirements as the first standard logi suit right now, which really makes it quite high on the ammount of SP required (but that counts for all the suits now). I was pushing some basic skills yesterday and now am lacking about 400k for the logi suits. That sucks but is my fault really for not paying attention to the SP needed. The Militia (Logi) Suit only has one Equipement Slot and that means you could just as well use any other of the militia suits. You're not as versatile as with a real logi suit of course, but what can you do? |

Buy a Militia Logistics Drop Suit.
It is limited to two Equipment Slots so you only get Injector and Repair. Of course if the Downed Blues don't press X in the spawn map very often then a Hive might be a better solution.
Just use Militia Gear and see if you like it. Doing it for real is very, very SP expensive. |

I don't think you gents have noticed all of the changes in Uprising yet. Militia Logistics suits do not exist any more, as far as I can tell. If I am mistaken, please let me know specifically how one would be purchased.
That said, graduating from a militia suit if it were to exist, how would a player obtain a standard level suit, barring a 1.8m SP dump or AUR purchase? |

I am a pretty new player, about 5 days in. Before Uprising I was running Sver Logi suit and mostly militia BPO's.
Post uprising I am running a medium frame something something with only 1 equipment slot, so now I cant even have the repper and injector at the same time. I obviously still have the Sver BPO but I only need about 3 million more SP until I can equip it again.
What I'm wondering now is, is there even any viable low level dropsuit options with two equip slots? Basically if anyone could help me out with some fitting advice I would really appreciate it. |

It seems as if CCP wanted to make the logistics class for players who want to dedicate themselves to that play style. It's a lot more difficult for people to just test out the class without putting some serious time into it. |

To get into the Sever you now must train into it
Dropsuit control lvl 3 Minmitar medium lvl 5 Minmitar logistics lvl 1
Then, you can use it. Being said though, being able to run a BPO suit right now is kind of worth it... you can survive if you don't flail into fire fights or try to one on one a proto suit. Add in some BPO shield extenders and equipment and boom... total free logi suit with 3 high, 2 low, and 3 equipment slots.
Recommend not using militia hives as you now get one and it is consumed by one player really quickly |

This I understand, but as I said, I am relatively new. I only had around 800k SP to play with so obviously the Sever, for now, is out of the question.
I was just wondering if I had missed a slightly cheaper/lower requirement setup.

I am having real issues as a Logi now that my SP (4.2mil) gets me nothing compared to what it did before. I used to run a Logi Type-I (with enhanced modules) and have a fully upgraded AR, with lots of advanced equipment etc, and be able to hold my own on the field and support my squad/team well. Now I am stuck in an extremely inferior logi dropsuit (only 90 Shield and no extender slots?!!), with standard equipment (this I can handle), a weak AR with no range (annoying), and no enhanced modules or extra skills like drop uplinks and hacking.
I may only have 4.2mil SP but I was able to do a good job even against experienced players before this update, now I can't support my squad/team because I am being taken out within seconds of seeing any enemies. Every match feels like I have just picked up the game for the first time and am starting from scratch with no skills whatsoever. |

I'm right there with ya brother and I have over 6.2 million SP. Its killing me deciding which racial suit since I'll be stuck in it but yes, I'm going to be using militia level weapons as I can't afford anything really. |

Boost shields with extenders and find the skill that adds to max shield points, consider one that gains armor.
As a low level logi, you're Kill count will be low, focus on heals and support more and you should do well. Unfortunately it's now a choice of DPS vs Support to start. Once you start training into things more you can add more DPS though, just not as easily as before. |

Every role has been made far more expensive. I got used to ISK farming with the SEVER suit last build to support my dropship habit, but I can't do that again for two reasons. First the vehicle and suit trees were completely separated, and second the SEVER suit became 2m SP more expensive.
I honestly don't know what to tell prospective Logis and DS Pilots now. I'd be in a world of hurt myself if I hadn't spent a month farming 50m ISK to add to the 110m windfall from the salvage buy back. As it is I'm going to have to be conservative with my money to make it last until I gain enough SP to rebuild my SEVER suit. |

Yes!! I went through a pretty noobish moment also, and didn't pay attention to the SP amount required. Now I'll be stuck grinding for another 1,500,000 SP for the next weeks to come. Hooray.
To the main point, new characters get no SP bonus whatsoever anymore. I'm pretty sure I read that in the patch notes. So, yeah, they're pretty stuck for a few weeks or months without a solid logi suit. Hopefully CCP will add a basic frame logi suit. |

said this before in another post, but the basic frame is too much like the assault suit and too little like the logi suit, making different problems for both upgrade paths. the basic frame should be between the two suits. eg., minmatar medium frame should start with two equip slots. |

This is exactly my position too. I've not spent a single SP on any racial suit yet and weapons (other than light weaponry) are the same until at least after the 14th. That might persuade me to go flaylock and scrambler rifle and take advantage of the Amarr suits with their sidearm and balanced shields/armour or I may just go with Gallente and the AR and take advantage of the low slots for armour. There does seem to be a trend towards Caldari and their shields at the moment but with the scrambler rifle, that may change.
