I agree, I think a better range would be around 600, and no more, at least the sniper role of area denial will exist then, because right now it doesn't.

PS, as it is now, I feel I have no need to be a sniper, I would rather do another respec and wait for the new weapons and try those instead as a logi, maybe get in the field for a change. HAD I KNOWN IT WAS GOING TO BE CUT SO BADLY |

It was over 800 before, and so much for the 2,500 m/s , this really is a joke HAHA.

A little update here,
I've noticed that the range is not quite what it appears to be : ref: OP, I can shoot DS's at 700 mtrs + and see a drop in shields so the issue is not the shooting distance but one of visibility of the targets.

Sniper Rifles deal less damage while people have more health. What has changed is an increase in EHP across the Medium suits (While the Gallente Prototype Scout Suit has less EHP than the Type-II Scout suit from before), with more effective shield enhancers. Another change is that without Weaponry's +5% damage is that you feel like you are doing less damage since you are. There is also an "optimal" range, when past that does less damage. I think it may be around 100m if not less. What should be 188 damage per shot (Kaalakiota Tacticle w/ Proficiency 1) does not deal out 564 damage a clip like it should. This problem occurred in Ambush matches. While within the draw-distance. I believe the draw distance is currently 100m-150m.
Sniper Rifles' zoom can be used to see enemies, but unless they are already engaged in combat with your team you wouldn't know to look there.
Sniper Rifles have been assigned the role of Support Fire.
The draw distance cant be 10-150 mtrs, MAYBE for foliage, but if you can see enemies at 500+ that also tells you that it cant be 150 mtrs or less. The problem is I just dont see the targets at 450+, they just do not show :(
