I'm sorry but you aren't that important. A little power has gone to your head. If this is the way that ccp wants to move forward as their way of communication you sir would not be my choice for a spokesperson and certainly don't speak for me. If the power had gone to his head do you really think he'd be asking for feedback at all? Yes - because then he can demonstrate his power of do nothing. Instead of CPM going: We get it - it's wrong, here's our concerns, here's yours, where's the middle ground? We get a CPM who gives free posting lessons instead. If you can't tell I'm not impressed a CPM is talking down to his responders when he asked for the response.
I don't blame him. Hyperbole and whiny rants don't get much in the way of positive attention anywhere, and there is a massive amount of both on these forums.
Couching your words about a subject in an effective manner is just as important as the thoughts that motivate you to speak those words.
Being heard is easy. I hear heavy machinery and sirens just fine. I also tune them out. Being understood takes effort, from the speaker as well as the listener. Being understood gets things done.
Want to produce useless noise that gets tuned out? Rant, cry, whine and hyperbolise.
Want to produce effective communication that is listened to, understood, and eventually acted upon? Suck up your indignation at being told you're producing useless noise, be less of a brat than you are capable of being, and marvel at the wonders of effective communication. |

Stubbornness begs repetition. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself for the person on the other end to get it.
Repeating the "posting protocols" and adding new ones for the slow takers shows he's willing to listen, regardless of the source, so long as the source is willing to learn to communicate effectively and constructively.
I agree that it comes off a little condescending, and no one likes to feel as though they're being belittled or talked down to. I'm totally there with you. However, I think you're getting way too caught up in the emotion of it.
Yes, it could come across as a little condescending. No, that doesn't mean you should focus so heavily on it that you don't get the message.
You'll miss the forest for the trees. |

Nono, it's good to be critical. Especially of those who are designated your representatives.
I'm not hugely thrilled by the "posting lessons" of the OP, but I keep in mind that you have to know your audience, speak in terms that will be effective, using language and manner they will understand to effectively communicate your point.
And on these forums, snark and condescension are well understood, haha. |
