I'm not even trying to make a profit. I just don't use the damn things anymore.
This was a low blow. And it's CCP bowing down the anti-AUR PTW guys.
Seems like a weird business model. Bow down to the guys who don't spend any money and screw the guys who have.
Strange. |

Point is CCP could easily avoid the profit user would make on BPOs by refunding them AUR at the rate they purchased. (of course many would be fuming over this as these were purchased at cheaper rates, which ppl want to keep either as collectors or to sell to collectors down the road)
So its a clash of ppl who would have Aurum now at the value they paid for(many would be happy to have it at that rate and not seek to exploit it for market gain)
vs
Those who few closed beta testers that purchased a lot of BPO's at the lower market rate in anticipation of AUR refund or to sell on secondary market once it opened knowing that they're higher AUR price meant a larger eventual ISK return(a perfectly fair use)
Additionally there are those who purchased a single bpo of all the bpos for the purpose of collecting them or selling them to collecters. They would now have to repurchase them at a higher cost( a cost that everyone else has to pay now).
CCP very well could give us an option to choose in this regard too along with the character reset option as a SEPARATE option
Either keep you BPOs or AUR refund at the AUR price they were purchased at(that is a credit return no different than all the other AUR item returns, and since CCP can track the purchase but i imagine the price paid or at the least the date bought which can then be used to calculate the cost at that time).
Since these are BPO's there is no immediate day 1 rush to resolve this today. These things arent going anywhere
But it does state in the Dev blog that this will be the last AUR and merc pack reset. So I'm not sure if I agree with the final statement.

I'll be totally off the AUR teet. Except for boosters.

Strange. lol shut up, this whole AUR refund thing is new, back when you first bought them you knew damn well that you'd have to sell them for ISK if you no longer wanted them in the future. Also, since they require no SP investment, and CCP is only doing this because of changes to the skill system, then there's no need to refund them anyway. TL:DR get over it. Why are you flaming me? Did I wrong you in some way?
I don't get all the hostility on these forums. I've managed to communicate with folks without telling them to shut up.
You have an opinion and its different than mine. I'm not on here bashing the game or even CCP overall. I just don't agree with their approach to AUR.
Now... You shut up doodo head. Now I feel like a child. Thanks |
