Apologies if today's build finally incorporates proper communication via the game's actual platform. If not, then consider this a friendly reminder... DUST 514 is on the PS3, not online.
It might be difficult to imagine this for any who are reading this, but what would you know about DUST if you simply never searched online, or used a mic in-game? Nothing.... would you have completely missed out on the endurance event? Yep.. x3 SP last week??? No way!
Or worse yet,,,,, perhaps you might have played a few matches and decided that there simply wasn't enough content to keep you interested enough to continue playing.... today's massive update?? Future ones too??? How were you supposed to know???
So far CCP's player base has been almost entirely gained via online gamers. But since open BETA, that changed, and now the typical DUST player KNOWS NOTHING. CCP has relied on word of mouth in game, and in both the long term and short, that form of communication is sure to fail.
Again, if some form of announcement feature will be implemented today,, apologies. If not, this is my recommendation for the next update. Open the lines of communication on the PS3 itself. |

I agree, this would go a long way in educating the average player. We already conveniently have television sets in our quarters, just replace the Donnie Darko rabbit with some news once and a while and shazam, educated masses. |

On fanfest they said that they will send in-game mails from Uprising onwards. |

That is a start but I for one would like to see in game advertisements, similar in execution to the Quaff billboards in EVE. |
