Double the spool rate so our max DPS kicks in more immediately. It makes sense to have a long range weapon like a laser rifle have a heat up bonus because you are largely removed from the battle already and it needs a drawback. It is, however, completely detrimental to have a weapon like the HMG that has delayed DPS in short/mid range where you are in the most danger already.
It's difficult enough being the slowest class of dropsuit in the game with the largest hitbox and the largest signature on the radar. It does not make it easy to get close to people who can frankly just back up until they are out of your range and then destroy you effortlessly. We don't need the extra challenge of slow creeping DPS.
And currently, you can't really strafe as an HMG'r if you want to hit anything more than a few meters away. That needs to change, because our opposition can. Giving an assault the ability to move during a shootout while denying that function to a heavy means you are giving guaranteed hits to the assault while ensuring the heavy is going to miss more than he is already guaranteed to miss due to spool period.
This is where core of HMG gunplay is truly broken. |

So you've played Uprising enough to form an objective observation?

Uhhhh, these aren't problems with uprising. These are problems with the game currently, and seeing as how Uprising patch notes did not mention any change with would effect the problems I listed, I don't believe I need to play Uprising to recommend a fix.
Of course, I'm assuming you're capable of actually reading my original post, as well as the entirety of the patch notes.

The way to fix spool up time is to allow the weapon to spool with out expelling rounds when you hold down the right mouse button, or whatever that translates to on the controller. |

Of course, in Pubs, terrible MLT assaults just run in a straight line or stand still which gives the illusion that everything is fine when it isn't.
What joke.

.... What the hell does that even mean?
How can there be this many stupid people on the Dust forums?
It doesn't seem physically possible.
Well at least Schalac gave a theoretically plausible solution, though CCP hasn't figured out how to do secondary fire functions yet. |
