How to fix Armor for dummies. A guide made for CCP and it's absolutely FREE!* Step one, change shield extenders buff from 22hp/33hp/66hp to 22hp/33hp/44hp. Step two, reduce Armor speed penalty from 3%/5%/10%, to 3%/4%/5% Step three, Change plates from 65hp/87hp/105hp to 65hp/90hp/130hp Step four, increase armor rep speed from 2hp/3hp/5hp to 3hp/5hp/7.5hp Step five, introduce the armor repairer efficiency enhancer, which increases armor rep amount by 25%/35%/45%. Goes to high slot, has the same CPU/PG requirements as damage mods.

You realise if that happened you'd be able to get close to 20hp/s armour regen through mods alone? |

However, I see how that is problematic considering armor got much more HP, so I will remove the increased armor rep speed. It will take 28 seconds to recharge the base 210 HP. |

All 4 of these would be ridiculously favouring armor, pick 2 and it's pretty much balanced. Also, Fluxes and all these other shield eating weapons will make Armor tanking pretty sweet. I had this game yesterday where I was in a type 2 heavy, and I just lol'ed as the Flux hit me. |

You know, I'm pretty sure I saw flux proximity mines in the new items list. Shield tanking seems to be getting a lot of counters. |

Shields have inert 25 recharge speed and can increase it even more. Just reducing the speed penalty won't solve the problem that Shields can get near the same HP as armor (its like a bullet or two difference) while staying quick and recharging quickly. Also armor is VERY vulnerable to any explosive, from grenades to MD to the flaylock pistol. |

Now we're getting scrambler rifle, flux mines etc. not to mention we're getting drop suits designed for armour tanking, just saying armour tanking is getting better. So let's wait and try it in uprising first. |

So let's wait and try it in uprising first. Scrambler rifle has only 10% extra shield damage from standard AR, and only -10% to armor. The Flux grenade is really a hard counter, and armor having a hard counter would be too much because there is no third layer to the suit, you just die. |

lolno, let me give you my guide.
Don't touch shields Change Armor bonuses from 65/87/115 to 65/108/217 to match the increase of movement penalty.

Armor goes in low slots.
I like the Ideas and I would like to see double the amount of plates. Different plates gives different bonuses based on skill. Anything that throws diversity into the game is welcomed by me. There should be 10-15 different modules of each kind that either have a bigger positive bonuses or lower negatives. The tank a merc uses needs to be determined by style not the options. If I would rather have an extra bit of cpu/pg so I could put a damage mod on then give the the modules to do it.

You know what, guys, this might be a little off topic but Cat's post made me think about something that amazes me every time I take a look at CCP's balance efforts. What I'm talking about here is the fact that when I think about how I'd balance out the modules and weapons I'd start from the base level, make that base level very balanced, after that I'd just improve everything the same percentage to advanced level and then to prototype again the same percentage. CCP does things a little bit differently though; some modules grow triple in power from the basic level to the proto level and some only barely double. Some weapons get huge increases in damage and some a very a small amount. I mean my God, guys, I've tried and tried to figure out some type of sensible reasoning for all of that and I've looked at this from all different angles but I just can't find a logical explanation for this type of behaviour! It frustrates the crap out of me too cause it's not rocket science! Somebody, preferable a developer who does the balancing changes, PLEASE help me understand! And let me add that I hope I'm the dumb guy here and there is in fact some type of logical solution for this. |

Armor mods allow for high mods. More damage, shields or utility.
Flux kills shields easily, it is balanced but probably not perfectly. |

Armor takes the same slots as PG/CPU upgrades, and you never have enough. |

I think these changes are a bit drastic. No need to change shields. I think the only changes needed are less movement penalty (like CCP promised) and supplement armor oriented suits with passive armor repair rate (that could then be enhanced by skills). |
